5.0 out of 5 stars Good number of drills for experienced coaches 9 Dec 2010

This is a great book for someone who has experience coaching. I would recommend that you have read books detailing running a team, coaching methods, coaching psychology etc before buying this book. Reason is that this book will not tell you how to coach or run sessions. It is simply a collection of training 'drill's based on game situations, which work very well.

These drill can be used on ANY age group as you can adjust the difficulty with regards to how you set the drills up. I found myself changing most of the drills to suit my players abilities.

The great thing about this book is that it also includes the progression drills for most of the games.

Recommended for FA level 2 coaches and above OR with at least a couple of years experience.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great drills 5 Dec 2007
By A coach and a player - Published on Amazon.com
This book contains drills that are great teaching games that go beyond the usual stuff one finds in compelations of drills. Complete with good progressions. The kids like playing them and got a lot out of them. This book quickly became part of the core from which I build practice sessions.

The only negative comment I have is that I wish that a few of the drills at the very end of the book were as well described as the rest of the drills in the book. I wish I could find more books like it.

2.0 out of 5 stars Pages without printing 11 Jun 2013

The book was received with much anticipation. It was shipped loose in a box, so the cover and front few pages were bent up. I figure it would end up that way eventually through use.

It had served me well for a while until I looked through the table of contents to find additional drills to run. When I got up to pages 176-205, I noticed that quite a few pages were not printed on. Only about 1/2 to 2/3 of the pages that are supposed to have printing on them have it. So, I'm missing a bunch of the drills/techniques/etc.

Unfortunately, my return/exchange window has passed by a week. Now I am stuck with a partial book. I'd love to have the entire thing, but I'm not about to pay double for it.
