Excellent Value Pad,

This review is from: Game Pad: P2500 Rumble Pad (Personal Computers)
I have tried a number of pads but until now have not found anything that feels absolutely spot on. I am a console owner and have longed for a pad that allows me to play without all the clutter of having a wheel. In F12002, this give accurate feedback through the pad and due to the games adjustment allows you to set up the sticks and buttons perfectly. If you like the PS2 pad you'll like this. If you don't you'll still like it. I wouldn't have bought another PC pad but I think it looks better than most. The only real gripe is the shoulder buttons don't feel quite as solid as the rest but I can live with it bearing the major improvement in gameplay.

A superb Controller but had install problems,

This is a superb controller... Once you have it up and running. It's extrememly confortable to hold and use, and is the closest I've found to a PC version of a console controller. It could have done with the button action being a little more solid, but you quickly get used to the feel of it.I had huge problems installing it though. The install software seemed to work fine, but for some reason it installed standard windows drivers rather than the supplied drivers, which just don't work properly. According to control panel it was installed correctly, but it just didn't seem to work and for a while I considered returning it assuming it was a hardware problem with the controller. Thankfully though I logged onto the Saitek website, and found they have an online support forum. After posting my problems, I quickly recieved a very detailed reply from their support engineers with precise details of how to fix the problems I was having. This involved manually updating some drivers, which is not hard if you know your way around the guts of your operating system PC, but could potentially be confusing for some users. Based soley on the controller I would have given this 5 stars without question. The installation problems would have dropped 2/3 stars off this as it was extremely frustrating for a while, but due to the excellent support I recieved from Saitek I will give this 4 stars as I understand that sometimes problems do happen, and they were extremely keen to do all they could to help, which is increasingly rare nowadays.

Excellent,

I bought this gamepad expecting problems installing after reading other reviews. Installing on Windows XP was super easy and smooth as long as u stick to what the manual says. The pad is solid and feels comfortable. Excellent analog and digital function. Buttons are well placed for both a PC or playstation fan. Programming is all there from macros, to plain keypress to even just swapping buttons about. Wonderful pad and not quite sure how u could need anything more.
