4.0 out of 5 stars Nice Introduction to Role-Playing Video Games 9 Sep 2009
Format:Paperback
A very attractive introduction to Role-Playing Video Games with lots of screen shots and pictures from the development of a lot of popular games. The accompanying text explains basically how role-playing games have developed from their pen and paper and wargaming roots and then covers the basic concepts of what to look for when developing games and setting up challenges for players.
Budding games developers will get an overview of what to think about when making games and particularly some pitfalls to avoid. The fantastic visuals will give artists and developers ideas of how they want their games to look and hopefully inspire them to improve what has gone before.
Games players will get an insight into the development process and the many illustrations will provide a wish list of older games to look out for.
