Bought as a gift for a 10 yr old. You get a large slab of air-drying clay, a good selection of coloured ceramic paints, a plastic roller, a plastic 2-edged sculpting knife and an instruction leaflet which shows you how to make coil pots, pinch pots & slab pots.
Apart from the listed contents, all you need is a small pot of water and some old newspaper to cover your work surface (maybe an apron or old shirt for the child if they tend to be messy workers). As a former Art Teacher, I can say that most kids enjoy working with clay, and this kit gives them a nice introduction to the craft. The instruction leaflet keeps it nice and simple, but the results are pleasing. After you've made your pot, just leave it overnight to dry, then it can be painted with the ceramic paints.
Would recommend - a very enjoyable activity pack !

My 6 yr old daughter had this for her birthday. She really enjoyed making pots & lids & it was quite easy although I enjoyed helping her. We did find that it can break quite easily once dry so you need to handle it carefully, good fun for the price though

Bought for my (nearly) five year-old daughter. The clay
does require a fair bit af manipulating to make a decent
outcome (in my opinion) and I think my daughter is too
young to make the most of this product.
However, the bit that drove me nuts was trying to open
the lids of the lovely ceramic paint pots; I resorted to a
pair of long-nose pliers to open the lids on most of the
colours.
Of course, I may have had a bad batch, or, just as likely,
failed to grasp the simplicity of the moulded plastic clip!
Anyway, we made lovely bits and pieces and my daughter
really liked making things; so overall I'd recommend this
and hope it's just me that had snags with the paint.
