4.0 out of 5 stars Good replacement 15 May 2011

You can find 5 gallon water storage containers for less, but this one makes a good replacement for the fragile water bottle that comes with the Petmate Le Bistro Pet Watering System. I did a lot of shopping around, & this seems to be about the best alternative for the money to fit that function.

5.0 out of 5 stars Exactly what I expected. 12 Oct 2008

I purchased 3 of these bottles to use for an emergency water supply. These bottles are of the same quality as the ones that the major water cooler suppliers use. They're very durable. Each bottle comes with a screw on cap. The handle makes them much easier to carry than the bottles without handles, although five gallons of water is still fairly heavy. This is a very good product that I would definitely purchase again if the need ever arises.

3.0 out of 5 stars Average Quality Bottle 18 Nov 2012

I bought this jug to fill with purified (reverse osmosis) water for my fish aquarium. For the price I paid (about 20 dollars), I must admit I expected a better product. The plastic is very thin and the threaded lip at the top was chipped right out of the box when I got the bottle. This small defect did not seem like a big deal at first, but later, I realized that it caused the bottle to leak unless it is standing upright. Finally, after I bought this jug, I discovered that the Giant grocery store near my house carries 5-gallon water jugs (filled with purified water) for less than $7. If I had it to do over again, I would have just bought the one from Giant, used the water, and then kept the jug, saving the shipping time and about $12. So, bottom line, I wouldn't buy this product again.

5.0 out of 5 stars Actually holds a true 5 gallons! 20 Mar 2013

We purchased five of these polycarbonate water bottles from Water Supplies Warehouse. They were to replace our old bottles that we had purchased in 2005 and were starting to have issues with algae or other nastiness growing inside them.

The new water bottles do the job, but they are remarkable in that they actually hold 5 gallons of water. When filling our old 2005-era bottles, they would always overflow inside the filtered water machine outside the store. I think they might have been the same height and diameter as the old handle-free bottles. The handle displaced enough water to make it overflow everytime we'd refill. So, that meant we'd only put 4 gallons in them because what's the point of spending money on water that is just wasted.

These new ones do not. In fact, they leave a little air space at the top of the bottle. When I set one next to an old bottle, it's approximately an inch taller. It works fine on our old crock.

They seem pretty sturdy. The handle makes it easy to use and carry.

4.0 out of 5 stars A great way to save money on bottled water 4 Oct 2008

I was buying bottled water from Culligan, it was $6.15 / 5 gal. I now use these bottles and refill them at the grocery store at the Glacier water machine. I now pay $1.25 for 5 gallons. These days with gas being so much I can not afford delivered water.
