Product Description
This Traditional Galileo stands at 43cm tall. A beautiful thermometer with multi coloured temperature reading balls.
Contains 6 internal temperature globes with temperature reading tags( picture shows 5) Tags are gold coloured and read temperatures between 16-28C.
History of the galileo
The physicist Galilio Galilei (1564-1642) discovered that density of liquid changes according to temperature. This principle is used within the Galileo Thermometer, Depending on the temperature, the glass bulbs in the thermometer either rise or fall. The actual temperature is shown by the lowest of the upper floating glass coloured bulbs.
These Traditional Galileo's are top quality and not to be confused with cheaper imitations. Made from blown glass in Germany they really do make a perfect gift that will be admired- certainly not another dust collector.

This is a very reasonably priced product. I had one I bought years ago (for a LOT more money) that was better quality but it got broken.
I have no problem with this one at all, although it's not quite so stylish. It was INCREDIBLY well packed for postage.

I would not call Galileo Traditional Thermometer a toy. It is very good to look at but as it is made of glass and fragile it would not be suitable for a child. It gives me hours of pleasure and looks good - very eye catching.

great product, but not a toy for kids. I guess they just don't want to claim that it might be an accurate thermometer, but it looks great and it arrived well packaged.

poor item
ths thermometer was terrible!!! i looked like the leaning tower of piza, one of the floats didnt float and the top was poorly finished. sent it back for a full refund. Read more
