This audiobook is a collection of three old time science fiction stories from three giants of the genre. The stories are all interesting, and the collection itself is produced in an excellent manner. Tom Weiner does a great job of presenting the stories, complete with different tones for different character. He is easy to understand and makes the stories even more interesting with the way he reads them. Each story is presented with roughly three minutes to a track, which makes it easy to go back to where you stopped listening.
I must say that I really liked this audiobook - the stories are good and so is the reader. It made for some fun listening hours during these slow-traffic, snowy days!
In case you are interested, the three stories are:
City on the Moon (1957) by Murray Leinster - Someone is out to sabotage the new installation that the Americans have built on the moon, and they will stop at nothing to make it fail big. However, when they try to kill Joe Kenmore, they go too far. Joe desperately wants the City on the Moon to succeed, and he is just tough enough to make it happen.
Giants from Eternity (1959) by Manly Wade Wellman - When a strange, malignant growth lands in a Kansas pond and begins taking over, no one knows how to fight it. But, when scientist Oliver Norfleet learns how to use the gases of the growth to bring the dead back to life, he begins assembling a team of the greatest scientists that every lived. But, will even they be enough?
Lords of Atlantis (1960) by Wallace West - With Mars dying and the barbarians of Earth begin conspiring to bring their empire down, the Martians must work hard and fast to save the Earth from itself. But, there are those who wish to return the Earth to a pre-scientific "Golden Age," and they have plans to deal with the pesky Martians.
