I have been doing this DVD for about 5 months. Once you forward through all the chat, the actual exercises take about 40 mins. There are 4 parts; a warm-up, 2 exercise sessions and a short relaxation session. There are 3 levels, beginners follow Page, who actually does looks like she's recently had a baby. Intermediate follow Daphne and advanced follow Shiva. Although by the time you're totally following Shiva, you'll be long gone from using this DVD I suspect.
There are things I like and dislike about this DVD...
Pros:
- The exercises are good, great abdominal strengtheners, fantastic stretches especially for post pregnancy body and for carrying babies around all day. Also good for sore backs.
- Time-wise it's the same length as my baby's morning sleep, although I rarely get time to do the relaxation.
Cons:
- Not for beginners of Yoga - she does not explain the poses properly, I suspect a complete novice could end up doing more harm then good.
- The language is a bit much, with nonsensical expressions like "simply release into the present moment"or "Hug your muscles to your bones" or "Integrate your breathe with more awareness now."?????
- Shiva is annoying and smug!
- There are some production errors which annoy after the third or so time doing the DVD. Such as - she forgets about the right leg in the lotus pose.
I also bought a post natal Pilates DVD which I do when this one annoys me too much.
