Gaggia is the best known Italian manufacturer of coffee machines for professional and household use and its name is synonymous with tradition and reliability the world over. The company was set up in 1947 by Achille Gaggia, the man to whom we are indebted for the success of espresso coffee all over the world. It was he who on September 5th 1938 filed a patent no 365726 with which modern steam-free coffee machines may be said to have been born. In 1977 Gaggia began producing coffee machines for the home, launching the Baby Gaggia, which to this day is considered to be the ideal family coffee maker. The designs and technological advances have changed the way the machines look and work but the objective of quality, reliability and the passion for the right espresso everytime has remained throughout Gaggia's history and this is what makes Gaggia legendary.

Had this for a short while, works well.
The priming function that another reviewer complained about, really is simple.
Lets take it step by step: Fill tank if required, switch on (green light flashing, put cup under milk frother, turn upper knob anti-clock wise until water comes out of tube (about a second or two!) turn knob back to mid position. open chrome cover, place pod inside, close cover,wait for green light to stop flashing (probably has by now), place cup under nozzel, rotate upper knob clockwise untill the required quantity dispensed, or leave on untill it switches off. Job done, easy.
To be fair the instructions are not as clear as they could but once you do it once, it is very simple. As for water in the used capsul bin, yes that happens, but remember the used pods have had water passed through them and they now have an entry hole through the top and an exit hole through the bottom!!!!!. Water/coffee residue will come out!!

I Love It!! Cannot fault the machine. Easy to use. Have been using mine for heavily for the past 7-8 months and it has performed faultlessly. Heats up quickly and produces a perfect cup of coffee. Stop the flow after a few seconds to produce a lovely espresso or let it run until it stops pumping for a rich americano. The selection of coffee types allows for a different cup for different times of the day. Try one decaf capsule with one intenseo capsule for a flavorful, but low caffeine cup.

Not worth the money. Very fiddly to use and takes ages to make a cup of cofee.Apparently this is because of the capsules not the machine! For the amount of money it cost, I would choose another brand.
