1.0 out of 5 stars Review of Gabriel's Wings 19 Aug 2010
Format:Paperback|Amazon Verified Purchase
As someone who's read other texts by Annemarie Schimmel I was really looking forward to reading about her insights on Allamah Iqbal.Unfortunatly the english translation[ I think Schimmel originally wrote the text in German] offered in this book is rather poor, the book being littered with basic grammatical errors. Consequently one doesn't feel as if they are reading a text by Schimmel. I personally was unable to complete the book due to my immense frustration at the poor translation. I would definitly not recommend this particular translation. Hopefully we'll get a much better translation of the text that does full justice to the subject matter and Schimmel's invaluable insights.
