Product Description

Product Description

The new Asus GTX660 TI-DC2-2GD5 with Digi+ VRM for the ultimate power control and enhanced overclocking comes with the Asus exclusive DirectCU II for up to 20% better cooling.

Nothing is more distracting than framerate stuttering and screen tearing. The first tends to occur when framerates are low, the second when framerates are high. Adaptive V-Sync is a smarter way to render frames. At high framerates, V-sync is enabled to eliminate tearing, at low frame rates, it's disabled to minimize stuttering. It gets rid of distractions so you can get on with gaming.

I opted to buy this card as it's similar in specification to it's bigger brother the GTX 670 and offers great value for money. From reading and watching reviews online the card also delivers a quieter gaming experience compared with other 660Ti's from competitors. This was an important factor in my decision to buy, as my previous card the Zotac GTX 560 1gb has a reference fan design that made a lot of noise whilst gaming.
The noise levels are now considerably lower then before which I am really pleased about. To put it in perspective it's slightly louder when gaming than my 4 case fans. Which I deem to be a more than acceptable noise level.

To give you an idea of performance I can achieve in my system, when playing FarCry 3 at 1920x1080p resolution with ultra settings and no anti aliasing. Frames per second will be in the range of 45-60 with an average of low to mid 50's. For reference I have an i5 3570k running at a stock 3.4ghz with 8gb of 1333mhz RAM. This is only a guide, different systems will run at varying frame rates as you would expect. The internet is full of benchmarking videos take a look.

Also included is GPU Tweak which is a great way to monitor your cards core temp, fan speeds, boost clock and many other things you may find interesting. You can also overclock your card, which is something i'd definitely like to try in the future as it seems fairly easy to do with this software.

One thing to note is that I was only supplied with one 4 pin molex to 6 pin Pcie adapter, I would of thought they would of supplied two. This wasn't a problem for me as my power supply has these connectors, but if you have a power supply without these you would have to purchase another adapter.

Runs cool under load and doesn't draw a large amount of power. Handles all games you throw at it with ease including more demanding ones like Metro 2033.

Build quality is solid (would have been nice to have the backplate too though) however for the price you can't go wrong.

Before purchasing the card i done a alot of research into which cards would be best, looking at AMD cards vs Nvidia cards, and different manufactures. and ASUS & Nvidia still lives up to their names, quality card for a decent price, like what everyone else is saying, handles everything you can think of throwing at it, Battlefield 3 on ultra settings, running at around 60-70fps. So if you want a card which is going to last you a while pick up one of these!!!

Upgraded from a GTX260.
It's a huge improvement in performance, while the same size and power requirements.
The Accompanying "Asus GPU Tweak" software is also very handy.
Arrived within estimate.
Excellent purchase.
