...it's not that bad. OK, this version doesn't accept postcodes or street names, you have to upgrade to the Deluxe version. But once you get used to it it does work for town-to-town route planning (which is what it says on the box...). The maps "seem" up to date (yes, the M6 Toll is there) and for the few routes I've tried it makes a bit more sense than my previous version of Mappoint sometimes. For quick and dirty route planning it seems to work even though it is slower than Mappoint. I've seen much worse for more money!

I purchased this to replace mapping software that is seven years old, what with new roads and all that. I make many journeys to visit clients and like to punch in their postcode and see exactly where they are. You cannot do this with this software. Infact you have to know where you wish to start and finish before you can input departure and destination markers to figure out a route.
I will revert to the old software and use internet based maps to fill in any gaps.
If you want anything remotely useful look elsewhere.

Before I made the purchase I should have asked the question "Is it compatable with Windows 7" When I tried to load it onto my computer it loaded but failed to open. I contacted the distributers who said that Route Planner 2007 was not compatable with Windows 7 64 bit.
I was happy with service of the seller, but did not contact them as I only paid couple pounds and was not worried about a refund, which I'm sure they would have offered.

Receive Disc - very disaapointed. Disc is just a demo disc. If you want try to use the full copy you have to download it from GPS - who unfortunately don't distribute it anymore

AA Route Planner
I found this AA Route Planner very difficult to use. I have tried on several occasions to map out a route and cannot get it to work, gave up and is confined to rubbish bin.

Don't bother with this
Absolute rubbish, don't waste your money. This is very basic and not a patch on any free internet service such as Google maps.
