One of the most impressive soundtracks I've heard for a television show. Very well done with some memorable themes, a nice mix of tones.

Great TV show. Strongly recommended. The characters are fun to watch. The action is non-stop. I can't wait for the next season to be released.

PHENOMENAL 11 Nov. 2012
By Junryou - Published on Amazon.com

In terms of animated television show soundtracks, 'Green Lantern: The Animated Series' steals the top prize for "Astounding" scores.

With a dynamic range and beautifully arranged themes, Frederik Wiedmann creates music to accompany an equally incredible series. The show's setting is in the outer realms of space; the score matches that atmosphere. By using a wonderful variety of instruments, such as the electric strings, the composer takes the audience into that unknown, vast universe.

Certain themes add depth to the character development. For instance, "Aya's Birth" starts with a few instruments in low tones, but it crescendos into a beautifully complex theme - reflecting the character of Aya. Other themes, such as "Love Remembered" tug on the heart strings. Even powerful, epic themes are present, as heard in the tracks "A New World" and "The Destiny of Atrocitus."

I highly recommend this score to any and all fans of the Green Lantern universe. I also think fans of The Track Team - the guys behind the score of 'Avatar: The Last Airbender' - will enjoy this score immensely. This soundtrack tanks up on the level of "theatrical score," in my opinion [and I'm a soundtrack connoisseur]. Please do take a listen and purchase if you like it!

Best soundtrack I've bought all year 18 Oct. 2012
By Doctor Pym - Published on Amazon.com
I love soundtracks, and I enjoyed both the music James Newton Howard composed for the theatrical film, and Robert Kral's score for "Green Lantern: First Flight." However, Frederick Wiedmann's truly epic score for "Green Lantern: The Animated Series" makes for far and away my favorite CD of the three. It opens with a breathtaking theme that sounds like the last 30 seconds of one of the best end titles ever written for a superhero film, and the remaining 35 tracks are equally impressive in their varied textures, and for Wiedmann's ability to evoke a wide range of emotions. Wiedmann seems to have avoided motifs that might sound "cosmic," such that some of these cues could fit other heroic or menacing characters, too, but he'll get no complaints from me... I can't stop listening to this CD. Here's hoping for volumes 2 through 5. Bravo, Mr. Wiedmann!

A Wonderfully Executed Score 20 Feb. 2014
By Kaya Savas - Published on Amazon.com
Format: Audio CD
Frederik Wiedmann has found an amazing niche for himself as a composer amongst the DC Comics animated universe. His work includes series like Green Lantern, Beware The Batman and the feature-length Justice League: The Flashpoint Paradox and upcoming Son Of Batman. I have found that composers can do some great thematic work within an animated series and Green Lantern is no exception.

Wiedmann is able to give the character of the Green Lantern a proper musical establishment with a great theme rooted in classic adventure. Now, the budget and time frame for an animated series are both going to be small. So the big orchestral sounds are going to be samples, but that doesn’t detract from the overall energy and lush emotional swells that Wiedmann gives the story. He uses some solo instruments to really accent certain characters and moments, which in turn makes the score feel rich and immersive. The action is engrossing and supremely melodic. I was surprised at how much weight the score held, and with a running-time that nearly fills the disc you are sure to get your fill.

Green Lantern: The Animated Series is wonderfully executed adventure score filled with heroism, grandeur and with plenty of big moments. Frederik Wiedmann has really found a canvass to fully demonstrate his scoring chops, and his big thematic work is raising the bar for animation composing.

Hans Zimmer meets Audiomachine...in space 10 Mar. 2013
By Stormraven24 - Published on Amazon.com

Let me make this short and sweet: this score is as close to perfect as you can get. Every track is powerful, emotional, and all-in-all gorgeous. A few tracks ("The Inconvenient Truth", "Blue Power", "The Blue Lantern") made me think of Hans Zimmer's work (most pointedly on the Prince of Egypt score), while the more epic pieces ("Razer Saves Kilowog", "The Destiny of Atrocitus", "Into the Abyss") reminded me of Audiomachine. "Aya's Birth", "Star Sapphires", "A Lost Love", and the main theme are especially wonderful and memorable. The complexity and power of this album has made me a new fan of Wiedmann; I'm looking forward to finding more of his work, especially if it's anything close to this kind of quality.
