Exercises are replicated for the user's own region of UK. This is the 2nd edition of UK's best selling GPS manual. Synopsis The exercises using OS mapping and BNG co-ordinates deals with the GPS navigation for walkers. Exercises are replicated in the user's own region of UK. This is the 2nd edition of UK's best selling GPS manual.

From the Publisher

GPS The Easy Way is the only GPS manual that discusses the use
of GPS in UK and Europe, and the only one using Ordnance Survey examples
for the practical exercises. An essential book for anyone thinking of
buying a GPS, or who wants to get the best from their GPS unit.
We are surprised at the Stargazer "sailing geek" review as all examples use
Garmin gps units and this updated 2nd edition includes models such as the
Garmin 60. The discussion on which gps unit to buy guides people new to gps
into choosing a suitable gps unit for their needs.

5.0 out of 5 stars The best, clearest manual for understanding GPS, 26 Feb 2006
By A Customer
This review is from: GPS the Easy Way (2nd Edition) (Paperback)
I was so pleased to get my Garmin as a Christmas gift. However, after a few attempts to get to grips with it using the booklet that came with the unit, I gave up in exasperation.

What a relief to find this little book. No jargon, practical examples and a pleasure to use. The mysteries of using a handheld GPS are solved by this easy-to-read book.

I recommend it unreservedly to anyone beginning with GPS (especially Garmin!)

Worth every penny several times over.

5.0 out of 5 stars really useful, 24 Feb 2006
By A Customer
This review is from: GPS the Easy Way (2nd Edition) (Paperback)
I wanted to get into using my garmin for walking and unlike alan i found the manual near useless, so i spent a fiver on a great little read. Read it in an evening and had a weekend running through the exercises and now the garmin goes with me on every walk. I signed up to gpsu software and now plan all my walking rotues plus when i get bak i can see exactly where i have been.
For me this has been a really useful introduction to gps and how to get the best out of it.
Five pounds well spent and thoroughly recommended.

5.0 out of 5 stars A must for beginners, 10 Dec 2006

This little book is designed to explain how to get the most out of your GPS unit. It is not a substitute for the manual. Entertainingly written, it shows the strengths and limitations of GPS then goes on to explain how to get the most out of your new gadget. The theme of the book is "what can GPS do for me" and if you approach it with this message in mind then it will do a great deal. Incidently, be sure to check the latest specs of the various units reviewed in the back of the book. I have just bought a Garmin eTrex which is not highly rated, probably because of perceived lack of memory. The latest spec is better than the author suggests.
