G. Holmes says:
Q. With no internal GPS chip and no Bluetooth connectivity does anyone know if it is possible to directly connect a stand-alone GPS unit (e,g, GARMIN) via the USB port and run an app to project the position onto (say) Google Maps. I know that route planning is only possible with a WiFi connection but being able to follow that route live would be an advanage. Only asking for testing purposes.
Thanks

I was hoping to do the same thing, using my Garmin nuvi 1340T as a GPS receiver, and an android navigation app on the tablet.
I'm visiting South Africa later this year, and don't want to pay £85 for the Garmin map!
Any comments or assistance would be appreciated.
