Arguably, from a potential accident angle I didn't need this for my new Canon Powershot S95, as I bought it an extra 2yrs Warranty from Amazon that includes accidental damage. However, I also have a GE bridge camera whose LED has become scratched to distraction over the years, and negative cosmetic effects like this aren't covered by any warranty. This glass protector is manufactured to high quality that together with its S95 motif actually complements the camera, but this little motif might irk me if the protector was fitted to another model of camera. Easy to fix and stays put (after a month on the camera to date, with plenty of photographing of my new grandchild). Not following the instructions exactly I left the top film in place until the protector was fitted, which proved the right procedure for me with my greasy fingers. Make sure your positioning of the protector is spot on before applying pressure, as the 3M stuff sticks like s*** to a blanket; I had to have 2 initially light attempts at positioning myself.

This is excellent value and really works. My wife dropped our S95 after being charged by a cow in some woods! The screen protector glass cracked but on removal the LCD screen was perfect. Would've resulted in a very expensive repair if I'd gone for a plastic screen protector. If you value your camera definitely get one!

Low cost way to protect your valuable screen. Have used film types before but they reduce contrast whereas these maintain or even improve image.

Perfect fit! 29 July 2011

I ordered this and the generic 3" screen protector GGS Optical Glass LCD Screen Protector 3" for Digital Cameras to see if they were the same size, since the generic 3" version is 1/3 of the price. I'm sad to report that the cheaper version is not quite the right size for the screen on my Canon PowerShot S95 10 MP Digital Camera with 3.8x Wide Angle Optical Image Stabilized Zoom and 3.0-Inch inch LCD, but this fits perfectly.

These glass lcd protectors are great for your camera and far superior to the plastic sticker type you can purchase. The screen is clear and bright and very well protected.

Even though this is expensive compared to the other GGS protectors found here on amazon I would highly recommend it to any s95 owner. I think it's better to have a perfect fit, and it looks nicer too!

Great protection without distortion 21 Dec. 2011

If you have any experience with applying screen protectors you will soon see a major difference in quality here. I purchased this for my new Canon S95 because I don't particularly care for thin film protectors with their associated optical distortion issues. Since this is actually glass and not plastic it's slightly thicker than you might expect. But don't be deterred as it has virtually no distortion and is dimensionally precise. It fits the S95 screen perfectly.

As for the installation. I suggest you start with a high quality microfiber cloth and alcohol. Place a few drops of alcohol on you camera screen taking care to prevent any from running off onto the camera housing, I used an eye dropper. Next use the microfiber cloth and very gently wipe away the smudges and skin oils from you where you fingers have touched the screen. You might need to repeat the process a few times using different parts of the cloth to prevent recontaminating the screen. You'll know it's right when you look across the screen at an angle and has a mirror clean reflection.

Of course the trickiest part of the installation is the alignment. I started by removing only the screen protector's adhesive backing film. I turned the camera on to activate the LCD display and help gauge the location of the camera screen's thin (black) border outline (LCD edge perimeter). Keeping the camera on and holding the protector only by its edges, I visually aligned it as best as I could and barely allowed it to touch the LCD screen.

Naturally, it didn't line up exactly on the first try so I ever so carefully lifted the protector by its short edge (using an X-acto knife) so I could readjust it's position. Honestly, it took about 3 attempts but it was never so sticky that I was unable to remove it.

When it was finally right, I used the microfiber cloth to gently press it down apply even pressure over the entire surface. As a preventative measure, I left the transparent protection film on the screen protector (top side) while applying pressure minimizing the possibility of scratching the protector lens during installation. Once attached, just peel the protection film off and you're good to go...

Overall, I'd say this glass screen protector is the best quality I've come across, it's that impressive. It should provide excellent protection from potential scratches (but not severe bumps). It's so optically clear it's practically invisible and I never notice it when using my S95 which is exactly what you want!

Adequate but has its faults... 15 Jan. 2012

Decent impact protection.
Excellent LCD scratch protection.
Very clear view in dim ambient light situations.

High price for what it is.
Thick with fairly sharp edges.
Very reflective, making it hard to view in bright light.
Less than perfect fit (too narrow by 1mm and too high by 1mm).
Protector itself can get scratched, not as easily as a film type protector, but more easily than desired. This is no "Gorilla Glass".

If Gorilla Glass made these for under $20, I'd buy em for all my devices!

Note: This item also fits the Canon S100, as well as most other cameras with same sized LCD screens, but it does say "S95" written in white on an edge of it.
Also note that one side of the protector has a wider bezel than the other. This side should go towards the right side of the LCD if installing on a Canon S series camera so ignore the S95 label on the peel away as it will be upside down if installed properly.
I've found that the best way to line it up is to have the camera on to make sure that no bezel lines cover the viewable parts of the LCD.

Cheap Insurance Policy 19 Nov. 2011

Considering the price of this little screen protector, I didn't expect much. I've had cameras in the past that I had to retire because the LCD got smashed, but no camera in the past as nice as my S-95. I have yet to find out how strong this little protector is and with any luck I won't have to, but the fit and finish is top notch! I was expecting some sort of flimsy, one size fits all lick and stick type of thing. Well, that's not at all the way I would describe it! The protector came well packaged and upon inspection, felt quite rigid. The fit on the S-95 LCD is EXACT, and it is extremely low profile - to the point I would bet someone who had not seen the camera before could not even detect it was there.

When you install this screen protector, make sure your LCD is nice and clean. Notice that one side of the protector has a thicker border than the other, make SURE you place that side on the inner side of the LCD, next to the control buttons; if you install it backwards, it will cover up the left edge of the screen!

I would highly recommend this screen protector. While it may not stop a bullet, it will definitely prevent any scratches and offer a strong defense against light to medium impacts that would break the LCD without it.

Perfect fit and great quality!!! 24 Dec. 2011

I debated getting this screen protector or one of the plastic film ones (cheaper), but i decided to go for GGS one since I had read other reviews on the quality and fitment. Well all of the other reviewers did NOT lie. This is one great screen protector. The fitment is spot on, it's thin but offers better protection than the film protectors, and it's easy to apply. I'd recommend this for owners of the S90/S95/S100 cameras. You won't be disappointed!!!
