This cable is a must if some users of the Samsung NC10 have had a white screen problem. Basically the screen goes white and it needs a little pressing round the bottom of the screen to get the picture back. This seems to be a hardware problem which Samsung know about. You can buy this cable to replace the original. To open the screen is quite simple but you must realize that this will void the warranty. If the NC10 is past its guarantee, you can try this:
Remove the battery.
Poke out the little rubber pads in the 4 corners of the front of the lid and take out the screws underneath. Then peel the face off the lid. There are snaps that pop out as you start taking the face off. Unscrew the four screws at the base of the LCD panel. This frees the LCD screen from the hinges. Remove the old cable, remembering how they were attached and stick on the new one. Go into reverse and assemble the screen. No more white screen.
