The charger works. So in that respect it is genuine. It genuinely does plug into the mains and it does deliver sufficient power to charge a device (tested with a HTC Touch Dual).

However it is not original. It is branded Duragadget.

Also it is not as shown in the image. The image shows the cable attached to the top of the plug (above the dummy earth pin). However the cable actually exits the plug at the bottom and the plug extends 20mm below the bottom line of a standard plug plus there is a further 15mm of cable strain sheath. This extra 35mm might matter for some users. It only just fits in the place I normally plug it in. For this reason I given the product only 3 stars
