The HouseParty 5 is a fully "Made for iPod and iPhone" certified home stereo speaker. The HouseParty 5's exposed yellow drivers and backlit touch controls give this speaker a unique look to complement its great sound - with the 4 drivers and two bass ports the HouseParty 5 offers more than 20 Watts of power - more than enough to start your party. The HouseParty 5 will automatically charge your iPod or iPhone while it is docked, so you don't have to worry about running the battery down.
Don't get restricted by your playlist. If you're out with friends and want to enjoy their new favourite album, you can plug any MP3 / MP4 player into the HouseParty 5 thanks to the line-in port.

You're in Control
The HouseParty 5 comes with a handy remote control that allows you to navigate between your favourite tracks, and adjust the volume when the mood takes you. There are also backlit touch controls on the speaker dock itself, blending in with the attractive black design and exposed yellow drivers.

Funny looking thing (as you can see from the picture) but all that matters is the sound. The sound is tight, clear and loud. I judge any speaker on how they handle drumming (my hifi is Dynaudio speakers linked with Cyrus amplifiation) this handles it very well. DElivering a solid, tight sound, rather than a muddy sound which some set ups produce. Sounds good quiet or loud.
Set up is very easy. Plug in your IPOD and press play. The remote controls the IPOD very well. There are basic controls on the front which change track and increase/decrease volume. Like most docking systems this is designed for IPOD's. I tested my Nano 5th generation in it. There are adaptors which you plug into the top to make the ipod more stable. There are 4 of these. The one for the Nano is fine for the 5th generation but it doesn't work for the 4th generation, the connector at the bottom is to the left (unlike the 5th where it is to the right). As long as you are careful when connecting the IPOD it is not essential that you use the adaptor. It will work with other mp3 players via the 'aux in' on the back (lead not provided). I tested it with the SAmsung Q2 and an old ZEN, both sounded very good. It was playing them that made me realise that the docking system does have its own volume control. When I was working it with the remote on the nano I thought it was the nano that controlled the volume but it isn't. The volume on the nano is not used and can be set to zero. With the mp3 player the volume and the docking volume can be increased independently.
Some may need more bass, I don't. If you are using Ipod then you can change the bass level anyway. Loud enough to fill a small room, impressive enough in a large room. The sound is great AND THAT IS ALL THAT MATTERS! Highly recommended.

I bought these speakers for reasonably cheap (£45) in the sale at HMV and was expecting some half decent speakers. But instead I got some of the loudest speakers I have ever heard and they play without any distortion in the sound at all. Turn the volume down and you get beautiful mellow sounds, whack the sound up and you get a fantastic bass. All this from speakers with just 2 drivers, 2 small tweeters and 2 bass holes. No wonder these are part of the "House Party" range, they would be loud enough to fill a Mansion Party with sound. Truly incredible from speakers the size of a small shoe box. Highly recommend.

The houseparty 5 is one of the best docking stations i've ever had. the sound is incredible, how it goes so loud without distorting. most reviews i've read complain about the yellow speakers but I personaly think they look very funky. The only thing that i've found out is that if you have it on full blast then pause, there's a wierd noise coming from the 2 top speakers but its not that noticable. I love the touch screen buttons on the front of it where they glow up in blue which I think looks wicked. Overall, an exillent docking station.

don't buy this if you've got 4th gen ipod touch!!!
