I bought this book so that I could help my daughter with revision for her GCSE resit. Having passed other exams well, she proclaimed she couldn't do chemistry and the teacher didn't teach, he just made them copy stuff from the board. She initially got an E grade.
I am reasonablly well educated, but I have never studied chemistry, and my physics and biology o levels were back in, erm herm, 1984.
I spent 2 hours reading the relevant sections of this book for her exams, and then together we worked through the paper she had already sat, using the book as a guide. We got an A*!
Afterwards we each worked independently on other past papers - without the use of the book until we were marking and needed some clarification. 5 papers later and she had grades of 2xA*, 2xA and a B.
This book was invaluable. Ok so it does have a few naff features where the author is trying to 'get down with the kids' (my daughter's words) but it was all we used. She's sitting her resits tomorrow and then we'll be waiting for her result, but she's confident.

I recommend this book to anyone that is trying to pass their GCSEs, and if your looking to expand your knowledge of Chemistry!

AQA GCSE Chemistry
These revision books are a must for any gcse student. My daughter said they are easy to follow and understand, she would be lost with our them.

Patronising tone, very limited content, stay away from CGP books
Having used this book for my chemistry GCSE along with some others I would have to warn people to stay away from it, especially if you are going for A / A*. Read more
