I have purchased the GCSE Biology AQA Revision Guide, the GCSE Physics AQA Revision Guide and GCSE Chemistry AQA Revision Guide for my childrens' GCSE Science Exams. These books cover the syllabus for the Core, Additional and Further Science exams, therefore, these are the ones to get if your child/you are going to get 3 Science GCSEs by the end of Year 11.
If you have opted for "Double" Science - then I recommend that you purchase the GCSE Core Science AQA Revision Guide for your B1, P1 and C1 modules, and the GCSE Additional Science AQA Revision Guide: Higher for your B2, P2 and C2 modules with AQA.
These books are perfectly made for the AQA Science B syllabus (not the multiple choice one) - at least that is what I have purchased them for. They contain detailed information about all of the topics covered on the syllabus, with clear diagrams and drawings to make revision that little bit more interesting. They also come with practise questions at the end of each topic so that you can check that you know everything that you have learnt.
For optimum revision, these guides a best to be used in addition to all the other material that you may have (text books, exercise books) - you may wish to highlight key information in them, or make notes from them to aid you in your revision for your exams.

I used this book to revise/learn AQA GCSE Biology. I had not much knowledge before the exam as I self taught myself the subject, but after three days of using this book to learn everything I got an A! It covers the whole specification and simplifies everything into little chunks so anyone could understand. If I had more time to revise I would have got an A*. A Must have for anyone studying AQA GCSE Biology.
