Product Description

Not all women are created equal; some have the power of magic.
A wry tongue-in-cheek humorous tale of modern-day witches in the fraternity of GAS-BAG where magic and miscast spells are an everyday occurrence. Like women everywhere the sisters of the GAS-BAG come in all varieties, good, bad, clever, not so clever, and while several of them are crafty a small handful are just downright evil.
The Grand Hag Lynn is worried that Alveda Flaxforth, somewhat of a loose cannon and the newest member of the GAS-BAG council, will somehow disgrace them all. Alveda is anxious that her daughter Alison is so determined to send her own daughter Aryana to university when Aryana is equally determined not to go.
Aryana, in love with Shane and he with her, is worried that her mother will find out she and Shane have become rather more to each other than just good friends.
Meanwhile unknown to them all Violet, after being stripped of her powers, is forced to move back to her dilapidated family home and dreams of exacting revenge on those responsible.
The Toadscum sisters on the other hand are far too busy enjoying themselves to worry about anything more than who they fancy enough to become their next unwitting victims.
But everything is about to change and the world of GAS-BAG will find itself in dire peril.

More About the Author

With three grown up daughters, five grandchildren, too many pets, and a full time job, it doesn't leave much time for anything else. Thank goodness for writing which I manage to shoehorn in somewhere most days, because if it wasn't for being able to escape into my latest bit of scribbling, I might just go a little bit bonkers . . or maybe it's already too late to worry about that.

5.0 out of 5 stars Absolutely Brilliant! :) 13 Aug 2013
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
I cannot tell you how much I loved this book! As a Neil Gaiman, Tom Holt, Douglas Adams and Terry Pratchett reader I love books with a sense of humor and a touch of fantasy. I was already a big fan of the first GAS-BAG, and found this one to be just as funny and entertaining.Very cleverly written and whether you have read the first GAS-BAG or not, you will definitely enjoy this one. All my favorite people are in this one too. I have to say I love Alveda and her well thought out revenge spells, and I have to say I still love to hate the Toadscum sisters, and it was fantastic to find out more of the history on the infamous Violet!

This series of books are very different to the usual humorous fiction, very tongue in cheek, enough fantasy to be a little out of the ordinary but at the same time totally plausible and based in the real world. I laughed all the way through, and absolutely love the gentle, funny, and brilliantly different story... Needless to say you will be left in no doubt what so ever that there must be another book to come and I cant wait to read it!!!

The prologue is set in the past, written in the typical tongue in cheek, funny style of the last GAS-BAG, and leads us nicely to the present day where chapter one begins and almost immediately I was laughing at Alvedas answer to a jumped up security guard... Without giving anything away, whether you are new to GAS-BAG or loved the first one, read GAS-BAG in Peril. Its very different from anything you have read before and you will love it :)

The second of the Gasbag books and a continuing good read. Further unscrupulous scheming from Violet Wintervane in an amusing sequel to the first tale. Can't wait for the next one!

My daughter told me about this book. She is not really into these kind of books. She reads romances. But she thoroughly enjoyed it and so did I. Well worth a read.

5.0 out of 5 stars Fantastic sequel 3 Sep 2013
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
GAS BAG in Peril had me hooked from the prologue. After two chapters I simply couldn't stop reading until I reached the end.
After thoroughly enjoying GAS BAG I expected to equally enjoy its sequel, only to find myself even more engrossed than before.
GAS BAG in Peril is funny and brilliant, with characters that are true to life even in this fantasy setting, and a villain who is so much fun to hate!
I absolutely can't wait for the third installment of the GAS BAG series!
