The birds especially the Blue and Great Tits love to pop in and get the BlackSunflower hearts out of the inside. A trick now learnt not only by the Greenfinches but Chaffinches as well. Many hours of pleasure. Starlings tend to swing on it and loose their balance. Needs drying out from time to time especially with the weather we have been experiencing lately. Will be buying a few more to dot around garden with different foods in them.

i love this feeder and so do the birds.
i used to have a standard tube feeder but there was so much wastage as seeds fell to the ground but not with this feeder. its clean, sturdy and easy to use. yes it took the birds a while to get use to it but they feed very happily now and i get a wide variety of birds using it. they queue up in a nearby tree waiting their turn to feed.
i notice some people have commented on the stopper not being a good fit. what you have to do is put the stopper in it hole the give it an extra little push and it snaps tightly and happily into place so the ball is totally water tight.
please give this a go, it really is fab

For the first few weeks attracted a greater variety of finches and tits to the garden than usual but then moisture got inside and needed a lot of cleaning and the plastic became brittle and cracked.
The stopper wasn't a great fit.

This is a very good product if you wish to keep large birds from your seed. Attracts mainly smaller and often rarer birds that are able to perch on the globe to feed. Certainly attracts more Tits, Finches and robins.

ALL the birds shy away from this globe even the clingers,
And the little filling plug in the top, will not stay closed
it keeps popping open and then the rain enters and
ruins the seed inside.Overall compleatly useless.

This feeder is designed to deter sparrows however they are persistent enought to work out how to get at the seed, that was quite fun to watch. The design stops the seed falling onto the ground which is not only wasteful but also makes for some nice weeds and grasses growing around the base of a normal feeder. I would have given it full marks but one of the feeders had a plug (the green cap that stops the water getting into the seed) that was so tight the plastic cracked as I removed it for the first time.

So far the birds in my garden have not used it! Perhaps because the other feeders are easier to use. I had hoped it would attract smaller birds while at the same time keeping the larger ones, e.g. magpies, at bay. Perhaps the holes are a little too small, although other purchasers have not raised this as a problem. Given more time the birds may yet use it.

It is smaller than the photograph seems to imply - even with the measurements given.

I recently added this feeder to my collection specifically for meakworns. It works a treat. At last the Robins and the members of the tit family get a look in as the starlings can't be bothered with trying to balance on the edge of the small feeding holes! I love it!
