I have been using G-technology drives for 3 years now. I am a professional photographer and magazine writer.
Te G-Safe is my main storage unit. THe best part is that everything I store on one drive is automatically duplicated and thus "backed up" on the other.
SInce my first 250GB G-Safe, I have now expanded my photography collection and now have two 2 TB G-safe, and a 1 TB G-Safe. I also have purchased a spare drive of each size so I put the spare in, take one of the duplicated drives out, and take the loaded duplicates to my safety deposit box once every couple of weeks and also when I travel. That way, if something were to happen to my office, all my repository of images is still on a drive in a separate location. Best part: If something did happen and I needed the data and could not get my hands on a comparable G-Safe replacement - NO problem. The drive is a plain drive with no fancy proprietary software required. SO I can simply connect the drive using a USB to SATA cable (I found one for $39) and connect it to another computer to download and duplicate my files. The units are quiet, solid, and safe.
I have since purchased a number of G-Tech's other products and have been very happy. They also have live tech support if needed. I found that out when I wanted to purchase the separate drives.
