At first I thought that this was going to be difficult to do like a yo yo or similar weird pieces of plastic on strings but I bought one, opened it up, held a piece in each hand and started twirling the middle piece around and found that it was impossibly easy to do. So I turned on the LEDs of the toy, powered by two button cell batteries that were included and I turned off the lights and the difference was amazing, trails of coloured lights flying round in a circle. Slow it down and the patterns change, pull the string tight and you get squares of light, triangles and flower shapes all flowing into each other. It looks impressive and you need no skill at all to do it. I gave it to a 6 year old to try and he picked it up in seconds, as did all his friends. Quite innovative, quite simple and quite fun.
