Format:Audio CD
AM were another band that I found completely by accident, through Amazon's free downloads page. The song on there, Grand Opinion, was far from some of the pop clap-trap that can be found today, and it spurred me to buy the album. Fantastic choice.
The whole set up is certainly different. AM, which is confusingly both the name of the singer and the band, are non-conformist and fresh, but also maintain some pop sensibilities, creating an album which can quite happily be put on at a social gathering, but also yields much to the solitary listener. Their style has a somewhat French feel, light and airy, but occasionally rough and raw. To compare them with Air would be fair, but they have a certain je ne sais quoi that sets them apart from the French outfit.
If you have a broad mind and a passion for interesting music, AM will be right up you street.

I like all of AM's cd's, but "Future Sons & Daughters" is really my favorite. Like "Troubled Times" and "Soul Variations," it's a real album, in the classic sense. It begs to be listened to from start to finish. The songs work so well together. The music is at the same time rich, tasteful, catchy, moody, and soothing. It's very easy to listen to, and become absorbed in. It's got a nice slow groove to it that really pulls you in. I really recommend just about any of AM's albums, but like I said, I probably like this one best.

I am quite impressed with how well AM collaborated this album. All the musical elements and different qualities of each song makes this a distinctively must have album for 2010. I keep listening to "Self Preservation" over and over again because it really stands out as AM's style and taste for music. Although "Self Preservation" is a great song, I am very fond of every other song on the album as well. WELL DONE.

This is the best record I have heard this year. AM's voice is genius- the music is genius- it fits together perfectly. It's perfect for a day at the beach, a party, driving around with the top down, even relaxing. GENUIS. Future Sons & Daughters is a must have.
