I can't believe it has taken me so long to purchase this album, after ordering it from amazon the cd arrived on my desk 2 days ago and it has been on constant play ever since.
It is just a joy to listen to what are true FM songs which for one reason or another were not released in previous albums. Steve Overland as usual is absolutely fantastic and hearing this album takes you back a few years.
All the songs were were written by Steve Overland along with his brother Chris and also Pete Jupp and Merv Goldsworthy. It is a shame that they couldn't get Chris, Merv or Andy Barnett to play some part in the recording of the album but full credit has to go to Bob Skeat and Vinny Burns for some exceptional guitar work.
The album is very strong and although isn't as strong Aphrodisiac (my opinion) it would have still stood out nicely as a top FM album...as lets face it the album may have a different name on the front cover but this is an FM album and is a must for any FM fan.
Again, it is just such a shame that we will never hear this music being played live...but buying this album still keeps the band alive - so what are you waiting for?
Personally I would love to hear a second album by The Ladder, maybe a few more friends from FM can then play a part on that? There must be a number of songs that they boys have sitting there which Escape Music can package for us fans? Or better still, maybe they can write some new songs? Don't want to pressure you Steve, but can we have some more of the same please?

HASH(0x97567204) out of 5 stars What Should Have Been 9 April 2013

Why is it that bands like this don't seem to make a dent in the music market, when everyday throwaway music like Justin Bieber and the Spice Girls, reach the top of the charts. If longevity counted with 30 years in the music biz Steve Overland & Company would be superstars. Having been a fan for most of those 30 years I can honestly say I have never heard a bad song from any of the various bands that Steve has been in, often times with many of the same musicians. Released at a time (2004) when real music was considered anyone of the throwaway "stars" from American Idol (the true destruction of the music business) this cd never stood a chance. It's to bad this didn't make them stars. I for one will always buy anything featuring Steve & the rest of his crew. Give it a spin I know you'll become a fan as well.
