4.0 out of 5 stars Futurama makes it through to another season 31 Jan 2012
By Chris Morse VINE™ VOICE
Format:DVD|Amazon Verified Purchase
First, I have to agree with everyone who mentioned the packaging. It's the shoddiest I've seen in a long while. It's a crummy cardboard sleeve that holds another cardboard insert with 2 discs protected by cheap plastic bagging. Fortunately, I put all my Futurama discs into a single Aluminium wallet, so they just went straight in before they were damaged.

Again, it's only region 1 at the moment. I have no idea how long you'll have to wait for a Region 2 version, but the price from the States isn't too bad, it's just the waiting a couple of weeks unless you find a UK supplier.

The actual show I felt was on top form again. I was a bit worried with the first episode about Clamps as there was a lot of beeping to cover swear words and I wasn't sure where this new series was going, I've seen too many funny shows resort to cheap smutty language when they run out of genuine jokes, but I needn't have worried, the beeping was just part of that particular episode, and the show remains consistently funny.

I won't go into each episode here, you can find detailed info for that elsewhere, I will just say, if you have followed the show to this point you'll be happy also with the latest batch of episodes. All are very re-watchable.
Re-house them though in a proper case!

4.0 out of 5 stars Great Series, but again the box is rubbish 21 Feb 2013
Format:DVD|Amazon Verified Purchase
I'm litterally just repeating what has already been said. The series has been good, unfortunately the box is not. Compared to previous Futurama cases, it really is rubbish-y. Also, I don't understand why those of us in region 2 have to wait almost two years for it to come out on DVD over here (UK). I bought this version because the region 2 dvd doesn't come out till march 2013. If your a futurama fan, I'd strongly advise you to buy this dvd :-)

5.0 out of 5 stars SOLID AS ALWAYS BUT JUST TWO MINOR COMPLAINTS 17 Jan 2012
Format:DVD
Wickedly funny and clever as always; FUTURAMA is guaranteed, quality entertainment. However, there are a couple of things that are beginning to concern me. First thing: although FUTURAMA as subject matter is something that will always naturally appeal to geeks and nerds (like me) it seems that the writers are going out of their way to make this show the exclusive preserve of said. One of the episodes features a rather heavy handed and slightly pretentious reference to Shcrodinger's cat. It's all very nudge, nudge, wink, wink and clever; However, that kind of humour should be an organic part of the show and not just rammed in simply to show how smart we, the FUTURAMA fans and writers are. By doing so the writers are running the risk of alienating a potential wider audience. An audience this show needs to survive!

The second thing is the rather dangerous and slightly shoddy "case" the discs are supplied in. It's an all cardboard affair with the discs held in two separate and very tight slit pockets. This is a very dangerous way to store a delicate DVD, especially FUTURAMA discs that are probably going to be viewed by hardcore fans like me, again and again and again. My season 5 discs (that are in the same type of case) already have a few very visible scratches on them. This is something the producers need to do something about immediately.

All that aside, this is another sterling FUTURAMA season and I can't wait for season 7. Recomended. HIGHLY!

5.0 out of 5 stars Lockederama 11 April 2013
Format:DVD|Amazon Verified Purchase
Terrible cardboard case as many others have commented on, I wouldn't leave the discs in there permanently or they will likely be scratched. The discs themselves are Region locked to Region 1, they will not play on PAL Xbox, Dvd, laptops etc. Not long to wait now for a Region 2 release so might be worth sticking it out. Can't comment on the quality of the episodes except the 2 I've seen ok Sky, Neutopia was fairly bad but Benderama is much better though not amazing admittedly.

5.0 out of 5 stars Series is Amazing, Packaging is Not 4 Jan 2013
Format:DVD
Futurama Series Six is probably one of the best series there has been. There are thirteen episodes over two discs and not one episiode bored me in the slightest, they are all very funny and great to watch. My complaint however is not with the actual program but with the packaging it's in...it is awful. I liked it when they came in the big plastic box sets with the transparent covers on. This is just a cheap and very flimsy piece of card folded up and two discs slotted inside. I like the way both discs are in their own plastic protective sleeve however. I think they could have put a lot more effort into the packaging design to be honest, hopefully the next series will be different (fingers crossed there will be a series 7!)

3.0 out of 5 stars Held back 24 Mar 2013
By M-Tron
Format:DVD
To be honest Id love to comment on it, but as in England Ive lost count of how many times it has been put back, an Im sorry but since American has had it nearly a year a a half ago plus they already have series 7, there is no excuse for this, although I can appreciate this isnt Amazons fault.
But this, either way simply is not on. So yeah, I cant comment on this, much as Id love to!!

5.0 out of 5 stars The way Futurama WAS!!! 23 Oct 2012
By Jacque
Format:DVD
I was so over the moon watching this season to see it is back to its old form again!!
i never really liked the movies i much prefered watching the tv series. i will admit there were i couple episodes where i was like what??? O_o they weren't up to scratch with the rest of the episodes which are brilliant and really funny! they are getting more tounge in the cheek sometimes than what they used to be but what tv series aren't anymore!
so i wouldn't call it offensive in the slightest!
well worth watching if your a Futurama fan it will not disapoint!
