First, I have to agree with everyone who mentioned the packaging. It's the shoddiest I've seen in a long while. It's a crummy cardboard sleeve that holds another cardboard insert with 2 discs protected by cheap plastic bagging. Fortunately, I put all my Futurama discs into a single Aluminium wallet, so they just went straight in before they were damaged.

Again, it's only region 1 at the moment. I have no idea how long you'll have to wait for a Region 2 version, but the price from the States isn't too bad, it's just the waiting a couple of weeks unless you find a UK supplier.

The actual show I felt was on top form again. I was a bit worried with the first episode about Clamps as there was a lot of beeping to cover swear words and I wasn't sure where this new series was going, I've seen too many funny shows resort to cheap smutty language when they run out of genuine jokes, but I needn't have worried, the beeping was just part of that particular episode, and the show remains consistently funny.

I won't go into each episode here, you can find detailed info for that elsewhere, I will just say, if you have followed the show to this point you'll be happy also with the latest batch of episodes. All are very re-watchable.
Re-house them though in a proper case!

Even though the four DVD movies were something of a mixed bag, they still did very well for Matt Groening's underrated masterpiece to return in television form. Fifty-two episodes of FUTURAMA (1999-2003, 2007-2013) aired from 2010 to 2013. Some fans argue that these episodes aren't quite on patch with the seventy-two episode run from 1999 to 2003. It's true there has been some clunkers like 'In-A-Gadda-Da-Leela', 'Attack Of The Killer App' and 'The Futurama Holiday Spectacular', but FUTURAMA hasn't gone way downhill like THE SIMPSONS (1989-????) has [Don't blame Groening, the writers, producers and voice-actors of Springfield's favorite family for THE SIMPSONS' tragic decline, blame the executives at 20th Century Fox].

This contains the thirteen episodes that aired in 2011. I'm wasn't quite impress with both 'Mobius Dick' nor 'Neutopia', but the worst episode is 'Yo Leela Leela'. It's that bad it makes 'A Pharaoah To Remember' (episode 17 of season 3) look like 'Teenage Mutant Leela Hurdles' (episode 9 of season 4). But the other episodes are fine. The best ones from this batch are:
1. The Tip Of The Zoidberg, where we learn more of the friendship between Professor Farnsworth and Doctor Zoidberg.
2. Cold Warriors, like the wonderful 'The Luck Of The Fryish' (episode 4 of season 3), focuses on both Fry's life in the 20th Century and in the 31st Century as he accidentally introduces the Common Cold to the latter.
3. Overclockwise, Bender (the best character of the series) processes himself so much he has the ability to see what the future holds while Fry and Leela ponder about their relationship (Their romance is one of the reasons I love FUTURAMA, they are just an adorable couple).
4.

I recently purchased this product online from a well known UK supermarket (T***0), new for just £11. You will pay at least £7 more elsewhere. The box art claims that this product is a full season of episodes. It is infact 13 episodes, in the following order:

DISK 1:
The Silence of the Clamps;
Mobius Dick;
Law and Oracle;
Benderama;
The Tip of the Zoidberg;
Ghost in the Machines;
Neutopia.

DISK 2:
Yo Leela Leela;
Fry am the Egg Man;
All the Presidents'
Heads;
Cold Warriors;
Overclockwise;
Reincarnation.

From what I gather, these episodes constitute the latter half of what aired in the USA as Season 5. The product consists of a single plastic DVD case holding two disks, with one disk secured to the inner side of both the front and rear halves of the casing. The inner side of the sleeve, within the case, details the order of episodes on the disks. There is no booklet, insert or anything else - just the disks. Product arrived sealed in original shrink wrap.The seller packaged the item in a strong cardboard sleeve(like Amazon does). I am happy with the product, but can't understand why these episodes were not just included in the Season 5 UK release: Was someone just trying to gain greater income from selling two products rather than just one?

First of all, for me the packaging was fine - just an ordinary plastic DVD case with two discs, like any DVD. I don't understand what people are on about when they're talking about 'crummy cardboard sleeves'!
The episodes, as ever, are top notch. Incredibly funny every single one. It's such a massive shame there may never be any more!

Like the specials and series 5, it's not as original or as rich in jokes and ideas as the first four pre-cancellation series. But it still has a lot of the appeal of those originals.

The quality is very variable from episode to episode. Some of them I just didn't find funny at all. A lot of them suffered to varying degrees from the "Fast Show" effect, where lots of bit characters who had a specific role in previous stories are marched on just to speak their catchphrase and where the main characters repeatedly refer back to incidents from previous episodes for no apparent purpose.

But where they are good, they are still good. You can still play a good game of spot the sci-fi trope, and there are some good variations on old science and maths jokes (in Law and Oracle, and Benderama, in particular).
