Book Description
THE FUSSBALL BOOK is a season-by-season history of Deutscher Fussball since the formation of the Bundesliga in 1963, when the German professional game began. It's positively brimming with statistics: First and Second Division tables, top scorers, cup results, German progress in the European club competitions, and national team results--all in one handy volume.
But there's more to THE FUSSBALL BOOK than just numbers. Season-by-season summaries reveal the stories behind the championship seasons--and last-gasp efforts to avoid relegation--as well as many of the anecdotes which have become part of German football folklore.
About the Author
Dave Wangerin was born and raised in the American midwest but moved to Britain in 1987 when the incongruity of being a football fan and living in the United States became too much for him to bear.
An occasional contributor to When Saturday Comes and other half-decent publications, he was also editor of the obscure German football fanzine Elfmeter, which he helped start in 1988.
He lives in Scotland.
