Ok, who remembers the first generation of the Furby? Well I know I do and I remember my friend's Furby was very boring and after the 3rd sleepless night, her dad took the batteries out and it was never played with again. Well forget all that because this new generation is simply fantastic.
Like most parents I can't say I was thrilled when my 6 year old declared she wanted a Furby for Christmas. I did some research and found the boom seemed to have the best reviews and I picked this design for her. Well the big day came, my other children had computer games, tablets, Lego etc, well let me tell you all those were forgotten because this little guy kept all of us entertained.
Furbys come with their own names loaded, so you have to wait for them to wake up and they will let you know what they are called. They sing, dance, chat to you, learn English and the build quality is great. However, the fun really starts when you hook it up to your tablet/iPad etc. we have had it dancing, laying eggs, showering, going to the toilet, giving it medicine, feeding it and it's babies for hours and hours.
In short, you will love this little fella lots, however it is so much better when you hook it up with a tablet/iPad. My 4 year old also wants one for her birthday in a few days time, and yes I have ordered her one. I must say, I secretly want one too, I spent hours playing with Kai (our furby's name) on the iPad and he rocks out to Pearl Jam while I am making dinner. A brilliant present for kids (and big kids) of all ages. I highly recommend them, they have come on leaps and bounds since the first generation.
