3.0 out of 5 stars Maybe not worth the money! 10 Oct 2010
Durability: 4.0 out of 5 stars    Educational: 1.0 out of 5 stars    Fun: 2.0 out of 5 stars
I bought this for my daughters 9th birthday as she'd asked for one of these walking dog things!
Once I had (using the skills learned during my toy removal from packaging advanced diploma) removed the toy from the packaging, it provided my family a few minutes of hilarity as it yapped at us and made odd whining sounds. After we'd all held it, made it sound not very happy by tipping it upside down and gotten covered in white 'fur' we let the 9 year old play with it!
Basically it yaps a lot, pants and expresses displeasure if you touch it but doesn't do a hell of a lot else. It is supposed to walk forwards on it's lead controlled via a control pad at the childs hand. However,on a relatively flat pile carpet it will only do this for a little while before it appears to get stuck and then just goes back to making disgruntled little dog noises. Guess it's quite realistic in that way!
The child in question played with it for about 10 minutes on her birthday a month ago. Since then it has been sitting on the top of the toybox gathering dust, and shedding fur!
Considering the amount you pay for it and the fact that like a real dog it gets it's fur everywhere I suggest you go to the local rescue centre and get a real one. Much more fun!
Worth noting that we have all carpeted rooms in our house and this has not been tried on hard flooring or outside.

5.0 out of 5 stars Worth spending the extra money 1 Aug 2011

I bought this for my neice and at first was put off by the high price tag and the fact that there seemed to be cheaper alternatives. I am pleased that I chose this product however as it has been taken everywhere- she has even walked it to the local shop and back on a couple of occasions and it is still working perfectly! Very durable and a decent size compared to some of the cheaper, smaller products on the market.

We bought two for our young daughters, 2 and 5, both have enjoyed playing them. The dogs are easy to control/move on their leads - even our little one can use the controls on her own. Really pleased with them, our girls love them!

4.0 out of 5 stars good present 7 Mar 2013

Bought for youngest daughter for Christmas, a good price compared to others of the same type of toy, does what it says on the box. Only down side is that the batteries get used up pretty quickly.

4.0 out of 5 stars Missing Batteries 28 Aug 2013

Durability: 3.0 out of 5 stars    Educational: 3.0 out of 5 stars    Fun: 5.0 out of 5 stars
I bought this toy for my Grand Daughter's 5th Birthday (who is absolutely mad about dogs) and she loves it. She believes she now owns the real thing. However, I was very disappointed to discover that the item did not contain batteries as stated on the box. It was very disappointing to hand over a gift she could not use, which resulted in my husband having go to fetch some, which was not easy as they live in the country. This resulted in an extra cost of 10.00 for the batteries, so be prepared.

A toy that only goes forwards so when it walks into things you can't reverse, so end up going over and picking it up... ALL THE TIME! absolutely silly!
