I received this item today, just two days after placing my order. The kettle is a lovely red colour, and has a nice shine to it. The handle makes removing the lid easy - no more cursing as I bash my arthritic wrists against the handle of my old whistling kettle. The whistle is nice and loud, and according to the packaging, the kettle holds 3.7 litres of water, not 2.7 - handy for large families or for when you have visitors. It's very well made, and looks a lot more expensive than it is. The red is a nice, darkish colour and not at all garish. All in all, the kettle is both a practical and aesthetic addition to any kitchen.
Update: I thought it best to update my review, as I have since had problems with this kettle. My main gripe is that the red paint chips off very, very easily. I am a careful person, and was horrified to discover that even a gentle wipe-over with a damp cloth causes the red paint to chip off. My kettle now looks horrible, as it has several chips in the paintwork, and it cannot be cleaned for fear of damaging the paintwork further. Maybe I was just unlucky and got a faulty one, but thought it best to warn other owners/would-be owners, that this kettle may need unusually delicate handling. I've been very happy with the kettle's performance, and loved how it initially looked, but ultimately, have been left very disappointed with the product, due to the somewhat fragile paintwork. It's a shame, as this is such a nice-looking kettle, yet after a couple of months of careful use, mine now looks like an old one.
