Format:Audio CD
Firstly if you havent heard a ministry of sound (mos) compilation then look no further than funky house sessions. If you have you will know you cant go wrong with a mos compilation!
Funky house is definately becomming more and more the "flavour" of 2005 and i have been a big fan of the style ever since becomming a student in Manchester where the club scene is great. The main radio station here plays all of these tracks and I love them all.
My favourites:
cabin crew - start to fall [uniting nations remix] (classic reminds me a bit of my youth)
basment jaxx - oh my gosh (i love basment jaxx and this definately represents them)
les rythmes digitales - jacques your body (make me sweat 2005) (when i first heard this i burst into laughter coz i recognised it. after 2 minutes i realised it was from the citreon c4 advert with the dancing car)
steve mac vs mosquito - that big track (just makes me think of summer)
Ask yourself these questions:
Do i like disco?
Do i like a little dance?
Do i like funk?
Do i love good music?
If the answer is YES then look no further. Definately something to turn up loud in the summer and have on whilst having a bbq :)

Ministry of sound compilations are notoriously hit and miss ... when they first started doing them they were great, but of late they have been VERY commercial.
This is no exception.
A few good tracks are outweighed by several mediocre tracks.
The mixing is not the best
I recommend a Defected compilation instead ... top quality mixing, great tunes, bit of variety ... much better
All in all this CD is better than the usual "clubbers guide's" ... but still not fantastic

Format:Audio CD
This is first dance/house album i have brought for a while and it doesn't dissapoint.
CD1 is better than CD2.
A must buy at a great price.

One compilation to rule them all....
This CD is fantastic, brilliant! Superb! I would consider myself a seasoned critic and have never given compilations 5 stars (except for Tiesto-Sunrise). Read more
