All told I own 5 pairs of padded under shorts and these are the ones I favour for longer road rides. For mountain biking i.e. purely off road I prefer a thinner pair of fox under-shorts that came with my riding shorts as I spend less time in the saddle and have full sus to soften the ride.
Back to the Funkier's tho... the chamois is of a much better design than you usually get at this price range, its thickness varies to allow it to conform to you better. Avoid padded shorts that have a chamois that is just a single thickness pad.

Certainly worth the investment if you value the area that it's designed to protect and good value for the money.
Could do with slightly thicker padding nearer the front though.
