It is often said that a good book should challenge your ideas and cause you to question what you are reading. Well David Prakel has achieved this in The Fundamentals of Creative Photography! I found myself, in equal measure, questioning how I looked at some images whilst arguing (occasionally out loud, much to my own embarrassment) with David's words.
would I read more of Davids work, simply put, yes! If this book is anything to go by he writes extremely well, and gets his points across with a certain style. Would I recommend this book to anyone? Well that is a slightly tougher question, The book is not aimed at the average beginner picking up a book to learn the basics of photography, so no, but I would point anyone studying photography with the aim to become a pro photographer towards this book as it will certainly aid their progress. Overall a well written interesting read.
