I am not into genetics at all (am a telecoms engineer!) but bought this one just to have a view of what it is about. I like the format of the book, many small chapters that you can digest more easily. The 42 chapters (covering 400 pages) can be split into two main parts, first on basics then on wider subjects like cancer, genomics etc. Reading the first part in sequence is clearly needed if, like me, you couldn't tell your proteins from your RNA ...
Good job, nice illustrations, beautiful production from Cambridge University Press as usual.
I can't imagine this book is useful for anyone else than undergrad's or those new to the field, but it may be a good refresher too.
