IT is a great book for amateurs. Let this book be your first first book about fundamental analysis. If you know a little about the topic, dont buy it, it would be to basic.

3.0 out of 5 stars Fundamental Analysis for Dummies 26 Dec 2012
Format:Paperback|Verified Purchase
Matt Krantz spends the first three chapters giving the reader the hard sell as to why he should use Fundamental Analysis but if you can stick with it past that it's actually very good and explains everything in plain English.

3.0 out of 5 stars Best for US readers 17 Oct 2013
Format:Paperback|Verified Purchase
An excellent source of information for anyone wanting to invest in the US stock market, with lots of American terminology and US websites. For an English reader these are not so helpful. The basic principles of fundamental analysis however, are the same on both sides of the Atlantic, so you can still gain a lot from reading this book.

3.0 out of 5 stars Limited 25 Aug 2013

It appears that this is written solely for the US market. No UK equivalents are given especially for the recommended websites. A pity since the author and publishers will be making quite a nice profit from the UK market.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great for beginners 1 Oct 2010
By Antoine - Published on
I got this book after reading through "The Intelligent Investor" and realizing I still didn't know how to perform a fundamental analysis by the end of it! Don't be turned off by the title, this book is great for beginners and really gets you the information you need to know. I enjoyed it especially because it is very readable and does not give you just vague fundamentals that a lot of other highly regarded books give. I'd definitely recommend this book

4.0 out of 5 stars Fundamental Analysis for Dummies 30 Nov 2009
By Bill Swan - Published on
Format:Paperback|Verified Purchase
As a introductory publication on Fundamental Analysis of shares, like all of the For Dummies books is well written and easy to read. The author although from a journalistic background has obviously spent a lot of time coming to terms with the concepts and methodology of Fundamental Analysis.

For anyone starting out in the stock market whether a Fundamental analyst or Technical analyst this is a must read.

5.0 out of 5 stars I wish this book was available 25 year ago! a must read for any investor 17 Nov 2009
By Fane B. Lozman - Published on
Another amazing effort from one of the defining business writers of our time. There is a reason why USA Today has Matt Krantz as a lead market reporter. Matt not only understands thoroughly all the nuances of fundamental analysis, but can explain it to those who do not in a prose that even new investors can easily understand. Even though I have been a professional investor for over 25 years, with a background as a floor trader and floor broker on all three of the Chicago exchanges, I learned a lot by reading this book that I never knew or considered as important. I wish this book had been available when I started in the business.

5.0 out of 5 stars A valuable reference for every investor 18 Dec 2009
By M. Costa - Published on
This book is the perfect reference on fundamental analysis for anyone who invests in stocks. Information is out there on the internet, it's free, and it's so important to make use of it no matter how you approach investing in equities. This book helps you do it. I did a quick read of the sections of interest and a skim of the rest so I can now refer to the topics as I need them and read further when the information pertains to the stocks I'm looking into. I'm no dummy, but I appreciate that this book is organized and comprehensive. Ultimately I think it can help me become a better investor and less of a "trader."

5.0 out of 5 stars Great aid for value analysis 18 Feb 2011
By Sam - Published on
Format:Paperback|Verified Purchase
Having read books on Benjamin Graham's and Warren Buffets approach to investing I was, from that point on, firmly in the value investing camp. This book gives you the analytical tools you need to really assess the true worth of a company and filter out the 'market noise' on any particular stock. In addition it clearly explains the value of each measurement and more importantly that the sum of the whole is greater than the parts i.e. to rely on any one measurement is foolish. Not all analysis can be quantatitive, qualitative is just as vital and again the book provides insights into how to conduct analysis in this area enabling you to read between the lines of any company information as well as identify the 'gottcha's' out there. All in all another fine piece of work from Krantz.
