Product Description

Product Description

Knitting is hot news, with Nicole Kidman and Kate Winslet both admitting to picking up their needles between takes. It's easy, amazingly versatile and often very quick - but there are not many exciting patterns out there for the young and fashionable woman. This book aims to change all that. As well as covering all the basic techniques with clear, step-by-step instructions, it also includes 30 specially-designed projects for stylish items of clothing and accessories. In addition, it also has a section on using knitting to customize existing garments to create a unique new look. All the patterns are relatively easy for the beginner, and use a wide range of the interesting new yarns that are currently available.

Her very first book, 25 Bags to Knit, is due to be published by Collins & Brown in October 2004. Emma lives in Brighton, East Sussex.

5.0 out of 5 stars fun and funky, 7 Aug 2006

(REAL NAME)
This book is really interesting. im new to knitting and picked up this book because all the projects in it are useful. Usually ive picked up a book and out of all the projects only found 2 or 3 i really liked, but all of these are fantastic. mobile phone holders, bracelets, funky socks! the books says exactly what yarn types/ needles theyve used. so theres no reason why your final piece cant look like image from the book. i did know a few of the basic stitches to start off with, but the book explains how to cast on/ off etc. how to change colour yarns whilst knitting. its really brilliant. if your thinking of a new hobby... definately try this book to get you started.

5.0 out of 5 stars Fun and Funky and practical too!, 19 April 2008
I am not a new knitter but have given and recommended this book to many new knitters. It is definately fun and funky as well as being practical and useful. I have knitted two different glove patterns and a hat pattern from this book.

It is great for knitting last minute gifts and each design is knitted on 2 needles even the socks.

If you have anyone who is new to knitting especailly those under 25 this book will appeal and inspire them. It is also a nice size if you want a portable project
