I loved this book and the grandchildren will love the final products when they get them for Christmas next year. Easy to follow and quite a good way for someone who has little experience in knitting to develop their skills. For the more experienced knitter the patterens can be used as the basis for other designs with just a little thought and skill.I would suggest this book to any friends who wished to knit for dolls.

There are some nice modern patterns in this, which I bought to make clothes for my grand-daughter's 18inch "Design a Friend" doll. However the book is American and the weights of wool are confusing. I have looked at some conversion tables but cannot find a definitive guide to some of the terms used.

The book is just what I was looking for, a friend had asked me to knit an outfit for a doll that she had had for years. I wasn't able to find anything suitable anywhere else. Although these patterns are quite modern, they are easy to adapt for different sized dolls.

This is a really brilliant knitting book. The patterns are fairly simple but very modern and up to date. My grandaughter loves them as they are so fashionable and her doll looks very glamorous in the finished article.
I can thoroughly recommend the book.

This book contains eight complete outfits for American Girl dolls, including trousers, skirts, dresses, coats, swimming and ballet costume, and accessories such as headband, hat, legwarmers, wrap, etc. As someone who is not a very experienced knitter, I have made a few of the outfits, and they do not take very long. They are a little big for a Gotz Hannah doll, but I have changed the needle size and altered the pattern to fit, and they really do look good. The reason I gave it four rather than five stars, however is that the author describes some patterns as easy when they are clearly not, and some of the patterns are quite complicated - even my mother, who is very experienced, had some trouble. Apart from that, I am very pleased with it - and so are the little girl recipients of the clothes!

As a novice knitter I wondered if I would be able to cope with the complexity of some of these patterns. However, they are so well explained that so far I have made six items and have had no problems. My granddaughter is delighted with the results.
