On their sixth LP (and first after breaking with the Om label), the West Coast underground rap heroes known as People Under the Stairs present another high-energy excursion into the feel-good, party-themed hip-hop of yesteryear with FUN DMC. Thes One and Double K journey back (way back) before the indie rap heyday of the mid-1990s, giving numerous nods to the old school's various eras. Against all odds, the B-boy-centric duo once again reformulates hip-hop nostalgia into a finely crafted product that is infinitely fresher and more original than the genre-bending work of their contemporaries.

Double K and Thes One do it again!

Buy this album, bump it, break it out again in the summer, light the BBQ, get the beers in and have a good time!

Having only discovered People Under The Stairs from the album Stepfather (while bored with other hip hop and flicking through to find something new), it was a welcome suprise to see P.U.T.S. puttin out a fresh album.

Although I've only listened to the new album through twice, they bring a new (or old) dimension back into their music, sampling Public Enemy and even 2pac's California love.

I would recommend this cleverly put together album to anyone who likes the fun type of Hip Hop that they produce and anyone looking for a new music direction...oh and of course it helps if you like barbeques.

I am a total music snob who slates anything that is remotely unoriginal or soulless but I love this album and can't fault it.
Even though I'm not really into hip-hop anymore, PUTS have continued to remain my favourite Hip-hop group and top 10 overall group because they never let you down in making consistently beautiful funky melodic cool music.

It does my head in how much rubbish music there is out there, especially commercial stuff. PUTS on the other hand have this rare gift of knowing what good music is and how to make it. They relentlessly search out forgotten beautiful dusty jazz,funk,soul,rare groove samples and beats and then add clever, philosophical, fun rhymes on top in a way which brings a smile to my face and a tap to my foot.

I don't know how they keep doing this but the PUTS have produced another album packed with (20) quality tracks! See them live!
