This book I fully recommend for those learning to improve communication skills, enhance confidence, understand and deal with rejection, improve sales technique, generally further their interpersonal skills and enhance their life experience.

Sound a little over the top? Absolutely not. The style of Susan's writting allows you to read this book in one go and quickly go back to the sections that you need to refresh. It's all about people and actually being interested in people. I love the way Susan floats from developing business to gaining "Planet Points" i.e. being kind and giving things back.

It makes so much sense and is simple, however, the book allows you and your brain to develop the pattern to build confidence and understand why we need to work a room.

Working a room is relevant for all business and social enhancers!
I'd actually go as far as to say that in a social context I am much more confident, but more so I get much more out of conversation and meeting people. It's infectious and as confidence grows, enthusiasm snowballs..this in turn seems to make working a room easier and easier. This book gives you that starter for 10!

Susan RoAne has an easy to read writing style. I was able to read it through with ease. The authors hints and tips weren't difficult to remember. Her use of Yiddish words and phrases was quite pleasant, and as I am Irish, rather refreshing. The glossary at the back also helps me understand some of the lines I hear in some American sit-coms. My one criticism is the many names, most of which I didn't recognise that the author uses. Perhaps an acknowledgements page with about half of the names would suffice. However having read the book I think that I understand why she credits people by name every time. As a woman who previously fitted into Ms. RoAne's "Scarlett O'Hara" category I am glad to have read it. Not only can I now "Schmooze" - I can do it without "Schtick" - With a little "Chutzpah" I may eventually become something of a "Maven" myself.
