In holland there's a radio program" 2-meter de lucht in":, that invites musicians in their studio to perform live , and acoustic
Yes, later it became popular through MTV's unplugged, but trust me this radio show was before that.
Anyway , when the Earring was invited they were not sure about it.
Cause they are a "hard"rocking band.
But they did it and liked it, much to their surprise.
So this record is a live and unplugged( naked) concert.
recorded in an Amsterdam cafe for a small crowd .
It is a wonderfull experience, to hear the songs this bare-and stripped down.
It shows the craftsmanship of the melodys George Kooijmans have written over the years, and you hear the fun they have.
There is also a DVD available from the gig.
and this CD is the third ? reissue with extra tracks.
Like: please go ( their first single, from the 60's!) and my favorite: murdock 9 6182, nowadays they play electric shows and unplugged ones like this CD.
For me a perfect way to grow up (and old) gracefully in rock and roll.

my fellow reviewer has said it all. A rock band unplugged can be awful ( take Kiss ) for example. The Earrring are far superior and much over looked. I know this group well and it pleases me to hear their music in a new way...marvelous

I purchased The Complete Naked Truth in addition to Fully Naked because I couldn't decide if Fully Naked would be worth the extra money, but it was. Not only do you get a DVD of one of the nights guys played, you get a few extra songs in acoustic form. But you can also purchase this version and get the three audio CD track. I didn't realize until recently that the DVD comes with a recent rerelease (if I'm not mistaken). Still great, though. :-) I always enjoy hearing the differences between acoustic and electric versions. If you are an American fan (or any other fan that isn't that familiar with Golden Earring) and only know of "Twilight Zone" and/or "Radar Love," I would strongly suggest looking up songs on Youtube to hear the great sound of Golden Earring. If you're like me, you really get hooked on the songs from hearing them live. Golden Earring is such a great live band that the acoustic shows really rates as energetic as an electric show. Go ahead: Dive in and listen. Let your ears take you to great places.

Can you handle the truth? 27 May 2001
By eveoflove - Published on
Format: Audio CD
First came their 1992 album "The Naked Truth" (70:10), an "unplugged" collection. In 1998, the album was re-released in Austria with a bonus disc (26:56) of 7 more performances, appropriately renamed "The Complete Naked Truth".
This second re-issue, titled "Fully Naked", comprises these 2 discs, plus a 3rd disc (30:19) "From The Vaults", all nicely packaged in a digipak. This disc contains 7 more live performances, plus the studio leftover "Madame Zou Zou". 3 tracks from the disc appear on the 4-disc compilation "The Devil Made Us Do It".
The recording quality of these live performances is excellent, and hearing the material in an "unplugged" fashion makes for an interesting change.
If you've missed out on picking up the first 2 releases, go straight for this 3-disc edition.

The complete Naked Truth! 22 July 2004
By Jessie - Published on
Format: Audio CD
This set includes The Naked Truth and Naked II, as well as few extra tracks. This is an acoustic live album recorded in Amsterdam, Holland. The songs work surprisingly well unplugged. You get some of the madatory fan favorites like Radar Love, Twilight Zone, Mad Love's Coming, Vanilla Queen, Going To The Run, and When The Lady Smiles, as well as a few rarities such as Madame Zou Zou (B-side of the Hold Me Now single from 1995), Murdock 9 6182, In A Bad Mood and Pouring My Heart Out Again. If you like Golden Earring, this a mandatory purchase, as is Bloody Buccaneers. If you like the Naked Truth, try out their other live albums, including the 2 disc 1999 release, Last Blast Of The Century.

DVD disappointment 7 Jan 2014
By Richard - Published on
Format: Audio CD Verified Purchase
This is the first of Golden Earring's now classic acoustic concerts, and the music on the CD's does not disappoint. I was hoping Sony would have reformatted the DVD of the concert to Region Code 0 or "All Regions", but sadly, this really is still a Region Code 2 disc and is unplayable on most players. I have the original Naked Truth DVD and that is also Region 2.

Other Golden Earring concert DVDs have been marketed as Region 2, but I have found that they are all Region 0 (including Naked 2 and Naked III). They are all in PAL format though, so you need to be sure your machine can play PAL formatted discs.

Overall, this is an excellent live performance by one of the most under-appreciated bands in the world. The second disc is a nice addition, with additional tracks not available on the original The Naked Truth CD. It just would have been nice to see the show as well as listen to it.
