5.0 out of 5 stars Full Many A Flower - A Review, 19 Jan 2011

This review is from: Full Many a Flower (Paperback)
First off I am also related to the author - he is my father's first cousin and we share the same sirname. Given my family connections I was really fascinated with this story and the underlying efforts that the author had made to uncover it. The way in which the family story sround South London came alive really gripped me as I think it would most readers - even if they are not related. The first world war coverage was more detailed and personal but I think the author can be allowed that latitude. Overall an excellent read.

This was a excellent book and i am not biased even though i am Derek's grand daughter! I was amazed that my grandad had traced through my family's history and considering he is over 75 (sorry don't mean to reveal your age!) he has prodoced an excellent read.
The book was well written and interesting. The language used was diverse and well spelled(i haven't inherieted that!). Anyway although halfway through the book it concentrates wholly on my great grandfather (who died before i was born) i didn't mind at all. i never tire of hearing about my family and their exploits! Great book Grandy at least you've finished now and can concentrate more on dozing in the living room!
