I needed a new backup drive urgently after my old Maxtor PS went up in a puff of smoke. I have worked with (but never owned) FSC equipment before and have never been disappointed, saw this drive at the absolute bargain price it is for a 1TB drive - by far the best value per byte I could find from a decent brand, and bought it.
Of all the other (4) external drives I own, this one is BY FAR the fastest - a factor of 300% in some cases. When you're moving around large volumes of data it makes a big difference. I don't use the backup software, but for those who want a one button backup solution, you can't go wrong with the Nero solution that comes with the package. I love the on/off button too - all my previous drives, I've had to pull the power or USB directly out of the drive. This drive also powers down when not in use - nice.
One thing I don't like is the enormous, blue drive activity light on the front face - when it flashes, the whole room changes colour - and it can be more than a little distracting if the drive is facing you - at least you are in no doubt when there is disk activity! Facing the drive away solves the minor problem tho. The second point I think worth mentioning is that there is a Western Digital drive inside - WD has picked up some negative reviews on its product stability and customer support - so hopefully, there won't be any hardware problems, obviously FSC will pick up any customer support issues on this product.
So far I'm very happy with this puppy.

Initial impressions indicate this is a great little drive. It lies flat on top of system unit if you want or the supplied stand can be used if vertical is more your style. It is pre-formatted to FAT32 standards which is fine unless you want to transfer files larger than 4GB as FAT32 does not support this. Using Vista is easy to reformat to NTFS as there is an option on the menu when you look at the drive letter. The user manual (on CD) instructions are probably for XP as they use the command line method which is both unusual and possibly complex for the (non-administrator) Vista user. The Nero software comes with the bundle for backups, but Vista has its utility so again you have the choice. Fujitsu have a good reputation and the drive is near silent. The blue light indicates disk operation and adds to the visual impact of the drive. Excellent first impressions and tremendous value for money at around 8p per Megabyte.

I have quite a few drives and I needed another for use at work, spotted this little Gem whilst trawling through the usual web sites - fujitsu are a German based manufacturer so as with their cars I expected the quality to be excellent- I was not disappointed!! The Case is really solid and not as flimsy as some of the other brands in this market. Set up was plug and play as stated on Amazon website and it has 2 unique features you would normally find on drives twice the price -
1) it has an on/off switch on the front of the drive
2)If you are using it as a backup device this ships with Nero backup software AND a one touch back up button -
All this and at the time of writing this review Amazon have the best price 1TB drive I could find on a top quality branded product - best price I could find was around �115 for this drive.
If you're looking for a drive a recommend this 100% !!!
