Fujifilm WorldTrip Dual USB Charger and Travel Adaptor
I thought this adapter was very good and versatile with the exception of the larger South African roundpin sockets. That is, until my wife used it for her hairdryer and it stopped working. I didn't initially realise there was a 5 amp fuse, the tiny small print on the plug is almost unreadable to anyone becoming visually challenged. When I did find the fuse it looks slightly like the UK ones but the diameter is 5mm and UK fuses are 6mm. UK fuses don't fit in the hole. Reading other reviews I got the impression that you can't buy such a fuse in the UK but it is possible. Electrosmart.co.uk quickly and efficiently supplied me with 10 5amp fuses 20mm x 5mm which fit and the plug now works. A spare fuse supplied with this somewhat overpriced plug would have been more appropriate.

I've read the previous reviews and I'm curious as to their complaints... I too bought this primarily due to its ability to charge my i-Pod, which I must say it most definitely DOES! I find it hard to believe that people claim it only charges via A.C. as I'm confident it contains a capacitor which is used (to simply put it) to change an A.C. supply into a D.C. supply.
On the packaging it also states its an :
- i-Pod charger
- PDA charger
- Phone charger
- USB charger
It also states its a "certified USB" charger and says, "Can also be used to charge MP3 players, mobile phones and other 5V powered devices" and I can personally vouch that it works for my i-pod and Motorolla phone.
Perhaps the other consumers had faulty devices, however mine definitely functions as supposed to.

Worked ok until the fuse blew - then I discovered that the fuse is designed to be not replaceable. Very bad design; fuses blow, they need to be replaceable.
The design of the Fujifilm Travel Adapter is similar to the Skross 2, and is probably designed by the same company. However, the Skross 2 has a slot with a spring-loaded fuse inside, easy to replace, plus the adapter comes with spare fuses inside a compartment in the case. For some unfathomable reason, the Fujifilm has the same design, but the fuse hatch is filled in with plastic to prevent it being opened - it is possible to open it, but this requires melting or cutting out the plastic filling. The fuse inside is not spring-loaded and you will need some needle-nose pliers to remove it.
1 Star for bad design. Fuses on electrical items need to be replaceable. This is especially true for a product that is designed to be used on variable power supplies around the world!
