The Z90 has simple touchscreen operation.
The Z90 follows in the footsteps of its hugely successful predecessor, the Z70. However, it now sports a stunning 3-inch wide LCD touch screen, allowing you to effortlessly navigate through the camera's many functions without needing to press any buttons. The responsive touch screen will not only let you take and view photos at the touch of a finger, but also provides a large, bright screen to playback and admire your photos. The elegant design grabs attention with its sleek looks and cool vertical sliding lens barrier. At only 17.45mm thick you really can just pop this camera into your jean pocket – perfect!
A social sensation
The Z90 is great for those who have better things to do than sit around all day uploading images and movies to Facebook and YouTube. Simply go to 'playback' mode, then select the 'menu' option and 'mark' your chosen pictures and movies for Facebook or YouTube. Then once you connect the camera to your computer and access the MyFinePix Studio software (included in the box), all you have to do is press 'upload' and they will all get transferred to the selected websites saving you effort & time.

The Z90 has an impressive Fujinon 5x wide optical zoom lens (28-140mm equivalent) which operates internally, ensuring the sleek design of the camera is maintained and also that the optics are protected against any bumps or scrapes. This 5x wide optical zoom opens up a wide array of photo opportunities that would normally be out of reach, and thanks to the Digital Image Stabilisation feature, the pictures you take will be crisp and clear, even at the full 5x zoom.

Navigating the Z90's interface is smooth and easy; Dual Direction GUI detects the orientation of the camera and automatically switches the direction of the menu buttons and current image.

Focused on the target
Great for those all important actions shots, the Tracking Auto Focus (AF) feature locks onto your moving subject and ensures that they are kept in perfect focus. Simple to use, just half-press the shutter button and Tracking AF will track your subject and keep them in focus until you fully press the shutter button, capturing a photo with the subject in centre frame and perfectly in focus & ensuring that you don't miss the shot. One more fascinating feature is the touch and shoot function. If the user selects this mode and touches the LCD screen, the camera will automatically release the shutter and take the best picture for you.

This camera is all I require, very easy to operate and gives a clear picture. The ease with which you you record video is so quick and simple and all options are clear to understand. A great little compact camera.I have given a link to the camera but admit the one I chose was silver but I do not think colour affects performance.

My mum bought this camera for herself because of the cheap price, all she wanted was a simple 'point and shoot' style camera and that's precisely all she got...when she used it...but when i got my hands on it and altered some of the settings i was able to take beautiful crisp macro images of flowers and insects each picture at 14 megapixels and a resolution of roughly 5000 pixel squared and to look at them you would be forgiven for mistaking them for pictures taken by a £300 Digital SLR camera.
Don't heed the one star reviews that say the colours are washed out and the images are blurry, these people must be taking pictures during an earthquake if they are coming out blurry and unfocused. The one true downside IS however the battery life, i only managed about 40 14 megapixel images before the battery ran flat, turning down the pixels to something like 1 megapixel will help greatly, and is more than enough resolution for things like holiday snaps and the likes

I got this camera as I had a panasonic Lumix which was getting a bit long in the tooth and this one came on sale and seemed to have updated features that my Lumix didn't have.
Firstly its sits nicely in my hand although I find sometimes that my finger will often get in the way off the shot, so I have to watch that.
The people who have been suffering with blurry photos. Well I did too have this problem to begin with, and then I realised that I didn't have it set to fine in the settings, so even though I had it set at the full pixels it was still taken a lower grade picture.
Also its worth noting that the SR auto scene recognition function, while at first seems a good idea, actually fails quite miserably. It certainly seems to select some scenes accurately but then it goes on to take an awful picture. Pictures too orange/blurry/colours odd. I have two of these camera's so its not down to a camera anomaly this seems to go in the range. When I swapped to just plain auto, the camera does well with this and all my pictures have been crystal clear and the colours are awesome, so much so that actually my editing pictures has been reduced quite dramatically, and I love how the camera corrects the red eye on the camera itself. Again cutting down on my editing time.
I really like the Touch and shoot mode, this is great for when you want to take a focal shot, it changes the aperture so that the focus is central, to the object you have set, and has produced some quite dramatic shots. I wasn't that impressed with the touch and track, except for portrait shots. The panorama mode is really fun to use, I actually took quite a dramatic shot of my living room using this, I am often found tinkering with this mode lol. Scene position is pretty good for most of its scenes, although i found sports to be sadly lacking, but then I am used to the speed of my DSLR. The natural flash is good if you want to save the time of framing a shot twice, giving you the best of two to choose from.
The HD video does quite well, its not as good as my panasonic in the day, although its only a small difference, but much better at night. Seems to cope with low light really well. Much better than my panasonic.
I agree about the screen turning on, I haven't read the instructions so that could just simply be in the settings maybe? But I just bought a hard case to keep it in my bag to avoid the problem.
Conclusion: For the price your paying its a good little camera, you don't often find a camera of this spec with a lithium battery. Its got good function, it lets itself down a little on the SR mode, but all in all I am pleased with it. I think it is good value for money.
