The new Fujifilm Finepix Z35 doesnt pretend to be a pro camera...

In fact it boasts about the fact its a fun camera for taking pictures as quickly and as easily as possible. From turning the camera on to taking a picture its about 2 seconds, which is awesome to catch an un-expected moment.

Onto the camera itself more in depth then, the build of the camera is great, strangely its made from plastic but feels solid and its coated for grip. I was suprised realy after using the Casio Exiluims which are steel, i didnt expect to feel like it was just as solid and hard wearing.

The camera can shoot at 10MP, but like ALL compact cameras its pointless as regardless of the MP range, its the lens thats important. This camera however uses a small lens but an efficient one. We took several shots with different settings and the quality was realy maxed out at 10MP on a A4 Format print, anything above that you noticed a drop in printing quality, like i said before, even though its 10MP, the lens cannot cope.

But that doesnt mean it isnt good, in fact it performs miles better than most of its rivals in the price range, as above, if printing A4 size or below, the quality is amazing. The battery life is solid enough to last a few hundred photos, its light but solid. Small too compared to other cameras but still packs a punch.

Functions wise its a little slim, face recognition and scene recognition add a little beef to it, also video recording adds a little extra and is pretty good quality but well if you wanna record videos alot, buy a camcorder as they are cheap enough now and do a better job.

All in all, this is a top top camera for its price, takes great photos and looks great! The ultimate festival or party camera!!!

    5.0 out of 5 stars I Love It 22 Feb 2010
By M. Dowden HALL OF FAME TOP 50 REVIEWER VINE™ VOICE
There is nothing wrong with my old Vivitar digital camera, but it only has about 3MP quality at it is pretty basic. When I saw this yesterday I instantly fell in love, it fitted nicely into my hand and just looked well designed. Knowing that my dad has a Fugifilm DSLR that he has always been very happy with, I treated myself to this. At the same time as I was going for this a woman in the shop was also going for Fujifilm FinePix Z35 Digital Camera - White & Pink (10MP, 3x Zoom) 2.5 inch LCD, which is nice and colourful for the women.

Advertised for the teen and twenty something market, I say forget that. I only really take pics on holiday and special occasions (parties, family get togethers, etc), I'm not someone who has photography as a hobby. This has a lot of functions, but to be honest most of the time my pics will be taken on auto mode, although since I charged the battery up yesterday I have been snapping everything in sight - probably making a nuisance of myself. For the casual photographer, which lets face it most of us are, this is ideal, and I am more than pleased. It is a nice small size to fit in your pocket or bag, it is a doddle to use, once you get used to all the different functions, and is a nice size to hold.

The accompanying software was easy to download, with absolutely no problems, and there is a manual on disc as well. This is going to be ideal when my sister visits me from Stateside, and my pictures will be even better from my holiday than last year. Of course you will need a memory card for this, although it does have something like 18MB internal memory. I got myself a 4GB SDHC card at the time as I only have much smaller cards for my old camera.

For the price you can't really go wrong, and this should give you years of enjoyable use, also this camera did get 5 stars in one photography magazine. Obviously there are a lot better cameras on the market, but for someone like myself it has all that I need a camera to do, plus the price isn't exorbitant.
