1.0 out of 5 stars Poor images 26 Dec 2010
    By GLL
    Colour Name:Silver
I have given this camera many chances to perform well but:
The battery life is very poor even with a double capacity battery it only lasts a few days and runs down even when not in use.
The focus is very poor and I have never has so many poor images with any point and snap camera I have owned.
I have had two Fuji cameras before, both had good battery life and clean images.
The Kodak I had prior to this was a million times better and if left alone with a charged battery could be relied upon to work after a month.
The idea of a point and snap is for it to be available when you need it, not to have to plan when you will need it so you can charge the battery.
I will think twice before buying a Fuji again.

4.0 out of 5 stars Lovely Camera 20 May 2010
    Colour Name:Black|Verified Purchase
Took some lovely holiday photos, a printed instruction manual would have been nice at this price but I presume it is on the included CD, without the manual I obviously missed some of the cameras finer points, but as a regular FUJI owner (my fourth FUJI camera) it is pretty easy to use, and the kids had no difficulty using it with no experience. Distance shots are high quality, photo stitching you must practise as they do not all match top and bottom and I was not over-impressed with the video that I did shoot, even viewed on a PC it did not impress me as being worthy of HD quality status. However if you compare this to the FUJI JX250 cameras that I previously bought my family it is a worthy replacement, similar price, if anything I prefer the square corners of the JX to the very rounded JV (too girlie for me) but you can't deny that you get a lot of camera in a very small package. I'm not keen on the laboured sound that the lens mechanism makes when the camera is turned on/off, but I have no duff photos except those caused by my own (amateur) ability. 4 out of 5 stars, only because I have not had time to review my photos in detail and maybe award a 4.5.

    5.0 out of 5 stars s 5 Oct 2010
    By P. Kaye

Bought this for my wife who loves taking photos but is not a technofile and didn't want something too complicated. The camera is very well made and so far has recorded very good pictures in a wide range of conditions. She is delighted with it an I would recommend it to anyone who wanted a high spec compact camera at a very reasonable price.

    4.0 out of 5 stars Fuji FinePix JX 200 11 Sep 2010

Fujifilm FinePix JX200 Digital Camera - Silver (12MP, 5x Optical Zoom) 2.7 inch LCD

Super camera, seems very well made and robust with metal body. Lots of options but it can be set to simple easy to use "point and shoot" mode which gives great results.
Its very compact and in common with lots of small cameras the controls are quite small, I have large hands and can use it OK.
Zoom range is very good from wide angle to 5 times but the slider control moves it quite fast and its difficult to stop at the correct zoom position.
Panoramic option is quite useful for landscapes once you get used to it, I found it best to stick to 2 shots panoramas rather than 3!
I would recommend purchasing along with a memory card, at least one if not two extra batteries (5-95 ish) as the one installed runs out VERY quickly.
In all, an excellent product and would give it 5 stars if it had a better battery life.

    3.0 out of 5 stars disappointing 13 Nov 2010
    Colour Name:Black
Despite having carried out a lot of research and reading favourable reviews on many websites the camera is a real disappointment. It looks and feels slick and has many features but isn't a patch on my Nikon coolpix 4MP. The battery life is short and the manual recommends optimum use for only 2-3days after charging. This will also effect the efficiency of the flash. The flash is poor and weak and doesn't produce great results even in a smaller room. The SR auto setting is the best option when taking pictures but nearly always reads 'night' in darker conditions. It functions more favouably in natural light conditions. Another annoying limitation is that it needs an HD SD card which needs to be formatted every time it is removed from the camera, eg. Each time the Sd card is inserted into another device for printing/storing images the card must be re-formated before it can be used in the camera again which means all imgaes are lost so must be backed up each time.

It may be unfair to compare this camera to a Nikon and I have to admit to being very exacting as an experienced photographer but I had bought this camera as a 'snappy' that I could just keep in my handbag, not wanting to take my Canon DSLR everywhere but my 4MP Nikon is a far superior camera to this one apart from the higher level of mega pixels (12).
