I bought this camera for my daughter as her first camera & it is excellent, super quality photos & videos.
One minor complaint is it uses AA batteries & gets through them quite quickly. the answer is to use rechargables which we do.
Update to the review, it has stopped working completely today,I would not recommend this camera, it lasted 2 and half years but has had very little use.I am now throwing it in the bin.

bought this instead of the the "toy" cameras that seem to be popular for kids... this is FAR superior in every way, cheaper - and with only the most minimal coaching our 5 year old is happily snapping away creating great pics using the full auto settings...
recommended as a surprisingly good gift for youngsters or newbies to digital cameras..

This camera is the best i have had, it takes great photo's and records video as well. the quailty is great too. I used it on new years eve for the video and i'm very impressed with it. It takes AA batteries and uses SD cards. Go on buy it you won't be dissapointed

Good value, but not great!

Bad purchase.
It only takes ordinary I used Duracell) batteries which last about 30 photos and the software stopped working after 6 months. Avoid.
