Product Description

Manufacturer's Description

The FinePix A600 Zoom is for the person who does not want complexity to get in the way of quality. It spares you the excess of controls and dials that cover many other cameras, and provides automatic settings that rely on the camera's know-how to get the shot. Furthermore, the Super CCD sensor within this camera will provide pictures that have a real edge over conventional compacts that compete in this class. Fujifilm has over a decade of expertise in producing first-rate digital images, and it shows in this 6 million pixel camera.

6.3 Million Pixel Super CCD;Fujifilm's proprietary Super CCD sensor has been used in the entry-level range. The only way to see the benefit of this feature is to savour its photos crisp, colourful and clear, this 6 million pixel camera enhances the reputation of Super CCD for creating pictures that don't look digital they look real.

Simple Operation;Digital photography isn't everyone's specialist subject, however this camera is as accessible as they come. How often have you found that you can't work out why your pictures look wrong, only to find that you had mistakenly pressed one of the many buttons for features that you would never use? With the A600 Zoom, Fujifilm has done what most people have been hoping for: create a camera that cuts your bad shots to an absolute minimum.

2.4-Inch LCD Screen; The A600 competes in a market where LCD screens are usually very small, and it is difficult to see the quality of your image clearly. The A600 gives you a well-specified 2.4-inch LCD on which you and your friends can inspect and enjoy your photography.

Solid Build;Just because it's at the beginning of our range doesn't mean that we have cut corners on the quality. Just pick up the A600 Zoom to find out how metal components have been engineered into the design to create a surprisingly rugged construction that feels reassuring to hold.

Fujinon Zoom Lens;We all know that the number of pixels can only be brought to life by the processor within the camera. On top of that, the lens plays a decisive role in influencing the quality of the final image. The FinePix A600 Zoom makes full use of the pedigree of professional-standard optical design.

Memory Built In;It's reassuring to know that as long as the camera has power, you can take a picture the FinePix A600 Zoom contains a very useful 12MB of internal memory, which is enough to accommodate those emergency images that you didn't have space for on the card. With that said, the main storage for images on the A600 Zoom should be an additional xD card, which will allow you to accommodate almost as many images as you like.

Exellent Fuji A600 9 Jan 2007
This is a first class small camera,Ideal for people who Just want to take pictures with out having to set any controls. A very large and clear LCD screen with very good Clarity. I have taken a few Macro pictures and the definition was great. Its worth spending a few extra pounds on a Fuji XD picture card from Pixmania uk. I bought the 1Gb,so i had know worries about running out of space while away on Holiday. Well Done Fuji.

A few friends were looking for digital cameras under £100. I read reviews elsewhere and recommended/purchased Fuji A600 for them. They were thrilled and love it as their first digi camera, by using the auto settings.

I've always loved fuji cameras ease of use and photo quality. at 6MP you get good printouts. Got the XD picture card from amazon at excellent price too!

We've been threatening to get our first digital camera for years and having seen the benefits of 5MP resolution upwards, we were contemplating spending around £100 for one, 6MP being all we need at present.

This technology is still advancing regarding features/resolution per retail price, but when we saw this camera locally at a cheap £49 we decided to jump in and buy one, together with a small memory card (128Mb), which is enough for our starter needs (78 frames approx).

So far, we're delighted with this little camera. It's almost too small for larger male hands, but my wife loves it, as it can be put in a handbag without taking up much space. The picture quality seems excellent for non demanding snapshots too and the auto function copes well with most lighting conditions, only the trickiest shots needing manual adjustment.

The first batch of photos were easily transferred to my PC, using the Windows camera wizard and were automatically saved as "JPEGS" - I need to know whether I specified this file format previously or not, as a larger file (TIFF) may give better results (I'm still very new at this). The next batch I'll use the Fuji FinePix software supplied on CD with the camera and see what happens.

I appreciate that photo enthusiasts wouldn't even look at a camera such as this one, but for ordinary people who want good basic pictures with the minimum of fuss, I'd recommend it highly - just point and shoot!
